Thank you for sharing that, what a cool hit! I would love any random player just to have as a piece of Baseball Card history, can't imagine what that Ohtani might go for. I may be over-reacting to calling it history but has there ever been anything like this as a licensed or even unlicensed Baseball Card? Can't imagine anyone ever doing this again but who knows. I give props to whoever at Topps or Fanatics that came up with that idea to include in Ginter. |

My initial thoughts (sorry to be a downer):
- the price increase is bad. $1800/case is going to be utter destruction from a value standpoint. A&G was difficult at $1200/case, let alone this. Fun hits and the entertainment factor doesn’t make up for this much. - going from 3 hits to 2 sucks. It is noticeable. Even if the third hit is another relic, it at least provided a small feeling of getting something else. - they removed any unusual size cards outside of the dinosaurs and lineups relics . Book cards, dog shows, presidential pins, mythical creatures, etc are all part of what makes this set fun. Getting a fat pack is super exciting. Boxtopper stuff was fun. They’ve essentially killed that aspect of it for the purpose of convenience. - the numbered relics are as lame as they sounded. I can see an argument for them, but I don’t think it fits the set. - Topps was extremely lazy with the images they chose. So many of them are just re-used from prior years. I recognized way too many while ripping the two awful Mitchell & Ness boxes I ordered. - I don’t see any insert or anything referencing the big anniversary which seems like a big missed opportunity. - The only positives to me are the cool new auto set which is SSP and the fact that rip cards will be more rippable since stained glass are in them now. That had to come at the cost of box loader rips, though. Tin type cards are fun too, but not sure how sp they are. I typically rip multiple cases every year. This will be the first in many years that I won’t get any cases which is sad to think about. :/ Last edited by kyleuk21; 12-03-2025 at 07:41 PM. |

I pulled a red ink ... of Jax. The Sesame Street character.
Where does a Sesame Street character rank in terms of weirdest auto in A&G history? Is it at least signed by the creator of the character or the puppeteer? No idea.

Difficult to put into words how bad my two hobby boxes were. Good grief…nothing of note whatsoever

This was super noticeable to me even completely ignoring the big rare stuff. I opened 2 hobby boxes and didn't have a single full sized non-baseball insert. They were all the very standard baseball highlights type ones. And only 5 total non-baseball mini inserts. The average pack was 1 silver foil, 1 mini, and a bunch of base. For a product that is supposed to be unique and quirky, it felt pretty bland. And I think the parallel-ization of the product really showed (foils + parallels, chrome + parallels, heck even the autos have a bunch of parallels now) and it just feels like a poor attempt to mask a super high print run

Watched a 3 case break that was pretty brutal. Maybe $1500 worth of cards. Maybe.

Very nice cards from what I've seen so far. Loving the non-sport autos. If anyone has a Al Pacino they are looking to sell, please PM me!

My 2 boxes yielded:
Bobby Witt Rip card /199 - not ripped yet...should I? Thinking I'd get $$75 or so not ripped? Will Warren Mini auto /99 Garvey Bat relic -eh Brendan Donovan Framed Mini Bat Relic 2 Judge Refractors - 1 in each box Skenes and Wood 1889 N22 Minis 3 Filigree - Kristin Campbell, Felix Hernandez and an actor I never heard of. Surprised how little these sell for as I think they are VERY nice cards. Kurtz base Best RC silver portrait was Crews, Wilson and Jobe |

Opened a case tonight. I didn’t get smoked. It wasn’t great. It was mid. Best card was a Bob Gibson 1/1 Cut Auto.

Can't flip it for what a case costs, is what I reckon.

Something like that is against the current business model. Their M.O. seems to be run the printers 24/7, 365 days a year and sit back and light cigars with hundred-dollar bills as they watch countless breakers fall over themselves grabbing up cases once the EQL hits. Any promotion like that wouldn't be cost effective and would hurt their bottom line, especially when they know people will buy it up no matter what. So, there would really be no incentive for them. Edit: I mean, they've already dropped one guaranteed hit from the product as it is. So... / /
