saw the headline and thought the compound had finally located....

"Trail cameras capture incredibly rare footage of elusive mountain family"

then opened it to find out it was only about a bunch of mountain cats

So the Wacky Factry has defined camps of Unhinged/Regular, with free agents in between?

Fired for the holidays - that ought to be fun.

Nothing like a divided locker room to improve productivity.

If I were OldMold I would put a stop to the infighting immediately but that would probably require him to fetch the purse from Mrs. FT.

I don’t necessarily agree with it. The guy signed up to work a seventh day, under his own accord, and was reaching 60 hours worked for the week. But not telling the lead in charge, who already has a chip on his shoulder as a 60+ year old newer hire with a lot of experience, was a bad decision.

My boss’s call on this one.

Not every battle is worth fighting.

I admit I don’t people very well but I will give the situation and you guys can tell me if I handled it the right way. We had extra garbage this week because of the passing of the cat and having to get rid of things. My son okayed it with his boss to use the dumpster where he works to throw it away. After I dropped my son off I drove to where the dumpster was, as I was taking the first bag to the dumpster an employee comes out the back door and says I can’t use the dumpster. I told him I okayed it with my son’s boss who works there. I proceeded to dump the garbage and he came back and asked who my son was it took every ounce of strength in my body to say none of your damn business. I told him and I said I have no reason to lie that my son works there. If the dumpsters which there were 2 of were almost full I could see him being worried but they were both empty and I only had 3 bags. The me of a couple of months ago would’ve caused a scene but it really wasn’t worth it.

Very true see my story below. Some battles are worth it but some aren’t worth the aggravation.

Our employee Christmas lunch was from the Newberry College dining hall. Disappointment is an understatement. Nobody liked it. I did my best to eat something and had some mashed potatoes. This new city manager is cutting everything for employees. We've gone from steak and nice places doing it where they served us like a restaurant to the college dining hall like we're in school.

It seems a lot of places are cutting back in one way or another. Where my wife works spouses were also included on their Christmas dinner restaurant invitation but this year it is just the employees. I am actually okay with that as there are too many snobby people where my wife works.

Last year we got tickets to go to the Columbia Fireflies Christmas lights, but not this year. Me, T, and N went and I paid for my brother and his family to go with us. We all had a blast. This year we get a bonus but its added to our check on Friday which means we won't get the full bonus amount

The funny thing is, when I worked construction in the middle of the 08 recession, the small company I worked for was still able to give us 2 weeks salary for a Christmas bonus plus a all out party at the owners house.

You handled it just fine. It really wasn't the person's business necessarily, but I have seen plenty of people dumping stuff into business dumpsters. That can cause problems when the business runs out of room because of this. I saw it happen several times when I was with the "slushie place". Rather have it happen the way you did it than potentially stress people out and get your son in some second-hand trouble.

Did BOO plan it?

True what you said and especially since our garbage pickup limits us to the one big green garbage can they supplied. Most weeks it is more than enough but there are some weeks where there is more garbage than it can handle. The funny thing is I always take my son back there with me before he goes into work to unload it with me. The one time I went back there without him I get confronted oh well.

The idiots here have already had the Christmas parade. It was November 22nd. Our town is quickly becoming overrun with very unintelligent people.

Glad you were able to make a family outing out of it. My best Christmas bonus I ever got was in the 1980’s when I worked at an Ace hardware in Florida it was 10 percent of your yearly salary which was pretty generous.

I'm avoiding FT JR right now so I don't throttle him. He broke his phone. He was playing basketball outside and had the phone in his pocket like an idiot. He went for a layup and it fell out and now almost the entire screen is broken.

Should take back all his Christmas presents and just get a new phone for Christmas.
