Im low key rooting for a UGA beating of Bama, and Va beating Duke, and BYU beating Tech

That would put Ga in as champ, Va in as champ, tOSU/IU as champ, BYU in as champ ..and G5...

Then obviously tOSU/IU loser..ND..TAMU..Tech..Oregon...

And then Ole Miss and OU...leaving Bama crying from the outside lol

Who do you want to win it all? Won’t happen but Indiana for me.

Just sayin’, Louisville started their fifth string walk on freshman running back and had another fourth string wide receiver switch to running back this week vs Kentucky. Both ran for over 100 yards each in a 41-0 whipping.

Looks like that performance got Mark Stoops hired from the best gig in CFB (getting paid $9M to be the 7th best SEC school.

I wanna know if Alabama can lose to Georgia and still get in the playoff. If not, we could see some chaos

Canes fan here. Yes I think Bama can still get in BUT tomorrow will be telling. IF the Committee puts Miami 10, ahead of Bama and BYU, then the answer is no. That would be telling Bama & BYU, you want in then win the conference championship.

I think if Bama is 10 tomorrow then they’re in regardless of result AND sucks for my Canes

This is beyond laughable at this point...

So Alabama...barely survives an Auburn team that was driving to tie with seconds left in the game to win by a TD...

Jumps ahead...of Notre Dame...who thoroughly beat Stanford by 4 tds...

Im not even a fan of Notre Dame being ranked that high...but the Alabama bias is getting out of control

My very first thought is what Booger, of all people, said right away:

It will be VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY interesting to see if Alabama stays ahead of ND if they lose.

I am at a loss to understand why ESPN does not have a Draftkings-sponsored "Booger's Picks."

So am I getting this right? As a Longhorns fan (no, they don't belong, but someone seems to think so since they're 13th, so I'm going with it), we need losses by BYU and Alabama? That'd put them at 11 with North Texas/Tulane winner in at 12? Is that correct? Or do the Duke-Virginia winner get a spot too?

Truthfully, I don't understand how Vandy, Texas or Miami are this high. None of them finished in the top 4 in their own conferences. Just makes no sense.

It is unclear how far, if at all, Alabama and BYU fall with a loss. But even if Texas jumps them both to #11, they are still out of luck. Only the top-10 will be getting at large bids since there are 2 conference champions coming from outside the top 12.

Yes, it seems certain the North Texas/Tulane winner is in. The general consensus is that if Duke wins, then JMU is in if they win. If Duke wins and JMU loses, it is unclear who that 5th conference champ spot goes to. Possibly UNLV.

Crazy that Duke at 7-5 is playing for a playoff berth. Cause the ACC gets an auto berth, right? That would throw everything out of whack.

No. No conference gets an automatic berth. It’s the truce highest ranked conference champions. So if two G5 champions are ranked higher than th ACC champions, the ACC will not have their champion in the playoffs. Miami could sneak in as an at large.

Yeah everyone just assumed the top 5 conference champs would be the Power 4 plus 1 G5... but as you said, there's no rule mandating that...

This Saturday ACC refs be like:

"Personal foul against Duke, 15 yard penalty, automatic ejection."
"But sir, all I did was call tails..."

Six of the conference championship games are rematches. I don't remember seeing this many instances in past years.

Duke vs Virginia (VA won first matchup 34-17)
BYU vs Texas Tech (TT won first matchup 29-7)
Jacksonville State vs Kennesaw State (JS won first matchup 35-26)
Miami OH vs Western Michigan (Miami won first matchup 26-17)
Boise State vs UNLV (BSU won first matchup 56-31)
Alabama vs Georgia (Bama won first matchup 24-21)

What's crazy is that Alabama and Georgia potentially could meet a 3rd time in the playoffs if things fall into place.

Yeah, kind of silly. I think conference championship week is going to be reworked when we get to a 16 team playoff. Maybe something like multiple games which for the bottom play in spots or something. The top teams already locked in.

Hopefully my boys can beat Miami OH this time around. The only loss in conference play on the year.

You know bloU wasn't top 4 in their conference either, right? Technically, they finished 6th behind Texas.

16 just isn’t enough to determine who the better team in the county is. Hopefully they go to 32 then 64 teams. Maybe through in a couple of play in games too. Playoffs should be at least 60% of all teams when including play in games. It’s the only fair way.

Hell put all 136 teams in one giant playoff and cut the regular season down to like 7 or 8 games.
