IN a game where points are at a premium, I don't understand not kicking the FG there. You're clearly in FG range, yet you decide to go for it. Of course they made it, but that's not the point. Point is, you take the points of the FG.

His numbers are right even with Marcell.

Marcell: 2752 yds, 25 TDs, 8 INTs (with a much better offensive line)
Aarch: 2763 yds, 23 TDs, 7 INTs

I know Marcell is a Heisman finalist but he's right even with Arch. Only reason that he should be favored over Arch is the Aggies are 11-0 whereas Horns are 8-3. But both will get drafted in April.

To be fair, I've only watched 3 games with Arch Manning playing. My point is, he doesn't look like the "Generational Talent" many perceived or touted him to be. He's ok

I do like Marcel more; he seems to be the most "Pro Ready" of the two.

A FG is better than nothing. Don't understand why Reed can throw the ball away and not get a penalty but Manning does the same thing and gets one called. They both literally threw to a spot where no one was. Yet, one wasn't called. But they got points at least.

Arch isn't a generational talent. He's a good QB. But he shouldn't have been so hyped early in the season. He beat Wyoming and Colorado State last season. Not exactly powerhouses. But yet the national media thought that was enough to make him a Heisman favorite. I truly think his name had as much to do with it than anything.

If Texas wins, the people saying Texas should be in the playoffs will be beyond insufferable.

Aggies by 4, 3rd quarter.

I'm a born and bread Longhorn. Been a fan since the 1980s. Trust me, Texas doesn't belong in the playoffs. Even if they beat A&M. They got smoked by Georgia a couple of weeks ago and laid an egg on the road at Ohio State. Those 2 reasons alone mean you don't deserve to be in the postseason.

I agree with you my friend, but there are already people calling for them to be in the playoffs with a win tonight. And I am sure you can see the Longhorns have taken a tidy 10 point lead!!

The good thing about this game is the outcome really doesn't matter for either. A&M is in the playoffs, whether they win or lose. And not playing in the SEC title game might be better for them. And Texas is not in the playoffs, whether they win or not. So really nothing on the line other than bragging rights.

Well, dammit.

Texas Longhorns still aren't a playoff team. Not from what I saw tonight

Texas A&M not going to the SEC Championship Game may not be that much of a disaster. Heal up Marcel, we're gonna need you when it matters.

Oh Marcel don't throw into triple coverage. C'mon, man. You are better than this.

Exactly. On all points. A&M is already in the playoffs, win or lose. Texas was out, win or lose. So the game really didn't matter outside of bragging rights.

And missing the championship game isn't bad either. Keeps them from losing and falling out of the playoffs with back to back losses.

I just hope Texas doesn't storm the field. That'd be so lame.

Georgia's worst case scenario just came to fruition. Not only do they have to play an extra game but there is a good chance it's against Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium where they have never beaten Bama.

Them Dawgs better hope the Rapture goes down in Auburn tomorrow night.

I’m sure they don’t mind playing an extra game to win a sec championship.

Yeah yesterday was rough for Georgia. They were in the perfect position: looking at a first round bye but not having to deal with the nuisance that is their CCG.

We can safely expect they’ll be #3 on Tuesday. Could they slip outside the coveted top 4 with a loss to Alabama? Stay tuned.

Last year the committee didn't punish the teams playing in their championship games. Texas and Penn State were #2 and #3 before the games and lost, they still ended up with byes. SMU was 8 and lost, but still stayed ahead of lower ranked 2 loss games and made the playoffs. Of course last year the byes didn't benefit the top 4. Georgia is in the playoffs and that is really all that matters.

Texas and Penn State did not have byes last year

Texas wound up 5th, and penn State 6th though. I imagine in 2025 seeding purposes they would likely be 3 and 4 though(last year the conference champions were auto-seeded to byes).

I feel being 5 is a good spot though, you get the G5 seed and then most likely Texas Tech/Big 10 loser.

Maybe Alabama.

I think the biggest thing is how would they seed Alabama if they win the SEC. Would they jump to the top 4?

No they didn't, although they would have with this year's rules.
