Default 1986 Topps Pack !

With all the BS out there about about the current state of wax and flippers and shillers...There are still good dealers out there. Bought the last 2 packs this nice gentleman had left in his showcase... Opened one and lo and behold it held a great one of the greatest.

The way PSA grades 80's paper these days it's probably an 8 max but maybe it goes higher at SGC or BGS. It's cleaner in hand (see bottom right) than the harsh lighting shows.

Congrats! That's a great looking copy. The last one I sent in to PSA got an 8.5 and yours looks just as good as mine.

Great card! Looks really clean, too. No fish eye and is centered L/R. Back being well centered is great, too.

Wow, congrats! You must've shouted in excitement!

I gotta disagree with you, i think it can get a 9, maybe higher. It's a blazer. Love the factory cut excess too.

Thanks to all for the well wishes...

They definitely do not downgrade that excess? I can never tell these days...

I've never pulled this card in my life so yeah I just said no ffffff wayyyy and that's going back to 86 when they came out and in the last 10 yrs opening a dozen or so wax packs and cellos.... I don't want get my hopes too high but I do think it's a min 8.5 or 9+

I personally prefer factory cut excess as that indicates no trimming plus i like the look.

Have you decided if you will get this graded? If so, what company? It's a blazer, i think it can grade high.

That will not sniff an 8. however a lot of people in this thread are sniffing something.

Always great to have a copy though!

Never say never. I pulled a 89 Ripken FF from a rack pack back in May and it got a 10.

What are you talking about. It looks great unless something is missing in the photo. PSA 8 for sure, and I think it would be a BGS 9. I've owned about 50 PSA copies of this. This is a good looking card.

That's called factory cut excess and doesn't detract from the card. As a matter of fact, some prefer to see that, which ensures no trimming.

Agree to disagree. I think it's at least an 8

A Jerry Rice PSA 9 RC was on my radar the last couple of Nationals.

I'm sure I missed things here and there, but I saw less than 5 over the last three years.

I grabbed mine for $1900, seller wouldn't budge, he knew what he had...

MAYBE have seen 1-2 10's in person, but they are always with one of the auction houses...

I would love to get an 86 pack with Rice on the front, closest thing I've ever seen was one of those 3 sectioned rack packs/hangers...

Yup, this is a card I have frequently bought/sold over the years. These could be had all day for about $2k for the last couple of years until the last 6 months or so, when it shot up to $3k. Makes sense. Pop of only about 1,000 in PSA 9 and one of the true GOATS. This will eventually be a $5K card.

Looks like a 9 to me. Only flaw is corner is not sharp on front lower right.

9's are tough. They may nail the grade with the snow on the green border and blue banner. I dont see any on the photo which is great news.
