My cousin has a small Pokemon collection from around the late 90s. I need help identifying the cards that are worth anything, and which cards should be evaluated for grading. I know baseball, but absolutely nothing about Pokemon. I have tried just doing what I do with sports cards, go on ebay and look at solds. But I cannot even ID many of these outside of the obvious card titles.
I either need to find a good samaritan, or advice on what type of business to go to for help. Thank you! Here are some of the sloppy photos... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

There are phone apps that you can scan each card and identify them with an approximate value. Or you can sort them by set (using the set logo at the bottom right of the picture) and then look them up easier on COMC.

For the most part, only the holo's are going to be potentially worth something. The best shown are probably Dragonite, Vaporeon, Ninetales, and Gyarados. Since the Articuno holo is a first edition (note the 1st edition symbol on the left under the picture), that might also be a good one.
To look up what sets they are from, search on the name and card number (found at the bottom right). Next to the card number, is a symbol. Star is rare, Diamond is uncommon, and Dot is common. But really, usually only the holo rares are worth anything. |
