2018 Prizm Gold. It's the best Gold to get if you don't want to drop $400k+ to try to convince someone with a 2017 Gold to sell.

2017 Encased Noble Nicknames: This is a card that one of my friends, who doesn't even collect football much, needed to have just because it was a unique card.

You can't find either of these cards readily available on any platform. So when they do pop up, they're likely going to some collector's long term PC.

That’s more or less what I was getting at. The point where any of his cards/rookies just get bought up at wild prices

Excuse me: "Rookie Notable Signatures".

This is the White Box version, but you get the point.

I want to say there were about 5 different inscriptions:

-Patty Ice
-Chiefs Kingdom
-@PatrickMahomes
-WreckEm
-2PM

I will say, the non-White Box versions would be a chase for me if I was a Mahomes PC guy. Those are nice-looking cards.

Not sure I'd want the rip-off "Matty Ice" inscription, though. I'd bet the "Chiefs Kingdom" inscription would outsell all the others. Thoughts, Mahomes fans?

Default Patrick Mahomes Prices

This isn’t a rookie, but this inscription is probably one of the best. Not my card

I like the actual cards themselves, hate the "encased" part because a majority of the cards were BGS 8 - 9's.

I would love to see one that re-graded with PSA just for a laugh.

The only way the football goats reach the same level of MJ, LeBron, or Ohtani is if the rest of the world begins to take an active interest in American football. The NFL is trying with their internatioanl games, but I'm not sure it will ever catch on the way the NBA did after the Dream Team in 92. The NBA and Ohtani have ginormous interest overseas; therefore, even young NBA stars like Luka and Wemby can outsell the football goats. There are deep pockets in Europe and Asia that drive up prices. Football is #1 here in the states, but it lags way behind other sports overseas.

ChiefsKingdom is cool, and the @PatrickMahomes is great too.

What I love about the @PatrickMahomes is that it's culturally relevant, and it's something that he signed as a rookie but I just can't image he'd sign now that he's a 3x Super Bowl MVP.

Maybe about 4 years ago I had a PSA 10 with a perfect Auto and inscription @PatrickMahomes lined up for a local deal. Seller got cold feet at the last minute and bailed. He's no longer active on Instagram and I haven't seen the card since.

Baseball is bragging about having 25 million people watch Game 7, while basketball had 15 million tune in to their Game 7.

The last 3 Super Bowls had between 125-130 million people watch. The Chiefs vs Cowboys game on Thanksgiving will have 40 million people watching.

Not everybody can spot it while it's happening, but this is the golden age of the NFL (Brady's second run through now, at least), the way that the 90's were the golden age for NBA and the 50's were for MLB.

Model estimates have NFL non-US revenue today equal to NBA non-US revenue in 2005.

Tons of ground to make up but it’s happening and will only grow with time.

I do agree with some of this…basketball is big in Europe and Asian..a lot of guy in china collects nba….but this theory of international sport = more collectors is not true…if so soccer would dominate

I still believe the vast majority of high end guys are here in the states … no one really collects basketball more vs nfl..it’s more people collecting Mj, Kobe, Lebron and curry only….Luka is a does have some collectors but other than that the rest of nba guys are hot potatoes like many of nfl QBs…I think 90s basketball did more for Bball collecting vs the international idea …likewise the 2020s nfl will do wonders for nfl market

There’s only one GOAT for each sport.

GOAT is always subjective ….

This.

If we're talking the context of cards, the folks that hyper fixate on who's the goat just out themselves as rubes who don't understand how collecting or the card market works.

Great performance mixed with cultural relevance is what matters in this market. Kobe is the best example. He's not in the goat conversation; nor does he even have a good case for the top 5. Yet he's top 3 in hobby relevance.

MJ 1A Kobe 1B keep trolling along! Their values reflect this ranking. You can blah blah blah all you want the proof is in the comps.

I don't know what you are trying to say, but it makes even less sense than usual.

When’s your book on card collecting coming out?

I’m sure it will be a New York Times bestseller.

Amazing that the guy above me still responds to my posts even though I don't even read his.

I mean, I see that he posts, but just skip over the content.

Moving on... it looks like there's another SB MVP inscription card thats from 2022 Impeccable.

Rubes is putting it kindly. Their time would be better spent curating the brain dead referee grievance thread that has gained zero traction. As far as I know, there was the usual amount of bad and or controversial calls over the past few weeks, but no outcry. Wonder why those don’t count? Never mind, pretty sure I know why.
