Default 2025-2026 Offseason Thread

Will it be a big off season with a possible strike looming?

I'm really sad to see Shota go, he's such a likeable person.

2023 was his exception and not the rule.

This is one thing MLB has completely missed the boat on. NBA and NFL free agency starts and guys are signing right away. Perhaps that's due to the caps and the contracts being more known ahead of time so its really just a matter of where they want to play.

Adam Ottavino is being considered for GM of the Rockies. He isn't even officially retired as a player yet and has no upper management experience on his resume. Seems like the perfect candidate as far as I'm concerned.

FA hasn't technically started yet (where guys can sign deals). Right now we're in the final phase (opt outs, etc) before full FA begins. That being said, MLB FA usually is much more strung out than the NBA or NFL.

Kittredge traded back to the Orioles for cash. Like the Cubs weren't going to lose enough bullpen arms as it was?

I'm fine with this. Maybe it's being a Dodger fan and the season just ending but a few days for things to heat up is fine.

Honestly I'd be so happy if he signed with the Dodgers, I know he's turning 33 next season but his personality would fit so well with that team.
