Turned on my TV this morning and all my ABC/ESPN channels were gone. I see that they are in a contract dispute. What are the chances this gets resolved by tomorrow so I can watch the college football games I want to watch.

They are usually resolved fairly quickly. Youtube TV will probably getting a lot of complaints about it from customers

Two years ago I missed the ABC CCGs due to one of these stupid disputes. My carrier is DirecTV. I have no idea how close they are to an agreement but losing one weekend is very much in the realm of possibility.

You should make alternative plans for the weekend. As I expect it to carry thru the weekend

I hope YouTube tells them to piss off. Stuff is getting overpriced as it is.

I heard the hang-up was Disney wanting YTTV to provide ESPN Unlimited as part of the package....with YTTV paying Disney more because it would be included.
The pressure is generally on YTTV. If this lasts into tomorrow it might motivate people to switch to Fubo (which is owned by Disney) tomorrow. Supposedly YTTV is going to credit people $20 which is 2/3 the cost of standalone Unlimited. It doesn't help people who watch the non-sports Disney programming but it is probably enough to slow defections of sports fans. |

Sling is going to cost a little higher than $90 with the same channels (for the most part) as YTTV Hulu burned me once so I am reluctant to go with them. |

I have Disney+ and ESPN, and I hardly watch them. But I watch YouTube constantly. I really need to stop wasting money.

The price wouldn't be so bad if the content was good. ESPN is mostly a$$ now -- remember when they used to have 30 for 30 documentaries? Now it's all talking heads. If I want opinions and analysis on sports, I can go on YouTube and social media.

If you're subscribing to ABC and ESPN through your service provider, you have to ask yourself if it really is worth your money and time to pay and watch national broadcasts of regular season games of random NFL and NBA teams -- WNBA?! Because that is basically the value you get from those channels if you're a sports fan.
Or maybe you're a fan of The View on ABC? If I were on a tight budget, I just couldn't justify the time or expense. And if I were a busy person with a young family and a full-time job, I'm only going to dedicate free time to watching my favorite teams play -- not random teams, talking heads or cackling karens. YouTube.com, on the other hand, offers so much great content from their user channels. You can listen to great insights while driving to work or walking the dog. You won't get inundated with advertisements from sports betting companies, either. The number of ads is moderate in frequency -- it's typically a brief in-video sponsorship ad from the video host. Just something to think about if you're a subscriber. |

Any bad ratings last night weren't because of the dispute, more because of the crappy teams.

I don't know why anyone pays for cable anymore in the first place. Most if not all TVs now have free channels that cover everything you need. For major Networks you can stream the stations you want for a fraction of the price of cable. ESPN+, Paramount+, Peacock ect.
To make it even better get a Firestick and everything is free. I stopped paying for cable 3-4 years ago and never looked back.

I have signed up for the fox sports/espn bundle. So far so good. Able to watch college football and the World Series. Don't have the big ten network for those games. Also need to antenna for NBC sunday night game. I haven't watched any of the shows on either platform, I don't have any interest in screaming debate shows.

Not gonna lie, I have been living on the high seas for quite some time and this year was my first year of going legit. It only took a few months for this “service” to not have what I need… in this case, football.

I thought they shut down stream east? It’s been running nfl games and the red zone is the no issues, per sources.
