It was good to see CMC have a big game -- there was a lot of concern that he had lost his ability to do it.

I know RTG and QBR aren't completely reliable, but objectively using those statistics Mac Jones has not been good.

I like Mac Jones too.

The Niners don’t necessarily need a good QB to win. They just need to stay healthy.

Pretty strong performance last week but of course we lose a couple starters in Huff and Brendel. And Purdy still isn’t back.
Missed starts from: QB1, WR1, WR2, WR3, TE1, LG, C, DE1, DE2, DE3, LB1, CB2, CB3, S1. Incredible.

I'm hoping Shanahan puts more up-tempo offense into this week's game against the Texans. Mac processes rather quickly in an up-tempo offense and always seems to find the right receiver quickly when doing so.

Can’t believe we even had a slight chance at the end. Texans had twice as many yards and twice as much TOP. Held without a first down until less than a minute remaining in the first half.

What a flat, uninspired performance.

I know the Niners are pulling a '22-'23 "Rams" what with the salary purge and roster reset (which I think was/is smart, given the age and soon-to-be declining productivity of the players they moved off of). Bill Walsh and Bill Belichick always got rid of players a year early rather than a year too late.

Still, even if they sneak in the playoffs, this team isn't contending. Too many green players, too many injuries. Lots of talent developing, but the rookies are... rookies.

Mac has done a great job, and while Purdy WILL throw more ints, he will also give a spark with his legs and playmaking. We need a little something.

Mac is such a gamer. Tough as hell and very quick and decisive with his passing.

I know some of you don't want to admit it, but the 49ers are a better team with Mac.

Even though Mac doesn’t run as well as Brock, the Niners don’t need a mobile qb with their offense.

I agree with you.

Shanahan's offense is about timing and precision. When you have a QB who runs around, it throws off the offense completely. I'm fairly certain Shanahan knows that Mac is much better suited for his offense.

He’s looked very Kirk Cousins against better teams. The Niners weak schedule has people seeing mirages.

Purdy extending plays is what separates him.

Niners don’t win against the Lions in the NFCCG with Mac. With Purdy, they do.

Every second you get excited about anything 49ers, you get the news that another key player goes down with a potential season-ending injury.

I think the actual title of this thread should be The Official 2025 San Francisco 49ers Thread: The Long Walk

Yet, they keep on finding a way to win.

Half the Niners can’t walk. Geez.

They have the easiest schedule in the league, they will get stomped by any semi mediocre team

It is stunning how every win seems to coincide with a key player going down with an injury -- i don't recall anything like it.

Great coaching this season. Acquiring Mac was huge. This season might go down as one of the most bizarre seasons ever -- making the playoffs while having all these injuries to key players. It's been a neverending injury fest.

Also, it must be pointed out that Eddy Pinero has been perfect since taking over for Jake Moody. Frankly, he's been unreal -- making every kick, no matter the distance. That long one he hit today barely made it over the cross bar.

6-3 record but only 14th best SB odds, yikes.
2-2 record against teams with winning records, and we'll probably be favored to win in only 2 of our 5 remaining games against teams with winning records.

After some initial positivity, this draft class isn't looking so hot.
Rd1: Fingers crossed for Mykel Williams, but he's looking more like someone who will have a long solid career vs a difference maker. Long solid careers are great, but you draft guys at 11 to be difference makers.
Rd2: Alfred Collins has been getting some solid snap counts lately, but doesn't have many tackles to show for it.
Rd3: Nick Martin hasn't gotten a single snap all year. Upton Stout is getting plenty of snaps but seems to commit a big penalty every other week.
Rd4: CJ West has been a healthy scratch lately despite all the injuries to the DL (admittedly more at DE than DT). Jordan Watkins is finally healthy.
Rd5: Sigle lost his starting gig and hasn't played a snap the last two weeks. Jordan James has been a healthy scratch all year.
Rd7: Connor Colby got thrown in after Ben Bartch's injury but has been subsequently benched for Spencer Burford. Junior Bergen is a practice squader and Kurtis Rourke is out all year.
