So why wouldn't you collect this if you like Basketball cards, You can hold, keep, flip whatever. And what does pricing a Jalen Williams rookie card have to do with this Product? If that is the price standard we are comparing any 2025 product too we are all in trouble.

We haven't seen most of the triple, double, and Rookie auto photo shoot cards come out yet, probably sitting in all these over priced Jumbo boxes

There is alot to collect if you can appreciate paper cards, kinda like hoops and donruss, which had some nice cards. Climb off the high horse and the mountain and enjoy the ride at what ever price you want to get in on. Or Don't, and keep complaining that the seat belts are too tight.

The Market is going to Market, if no one is going to appreciate lowend that is on the Market. A collector might appreciate the cards and give you some cash for the pile, either take it or don't.
Your post is sensible overall despite saying I’m on a “high horse” lol. You do realize you didn’t necessarily refute what I said? I’m not talking about collecting black parallels /68. I’m talking about the vast majority of the contents of each box, as in 100% of the contents in most boxes. So if I’m on a high horse for not collecting that stuff, I guess you are too. My point still stands - the prices of boxes are not led by the actual contents, it’s led by poor distribution by Topps / breakers / resellers etc.

I actually do appreciate low end overall too. My main point is that collectors as a whole do not and thus us reflective in prices and actual in person sales. And my side point was Topps basketball, or hoops basketball specifically is not really collected.

It's actually the 1/1 on card auto. Congrats on the hit. I'd redeem and sell asap.

How would you, as a manufacturer, do that?

You can control what the average floor will be because you can sell directly to customers. How will you control the ceiling if customers determine card prices?

It would be impossible for unopened box prices to sustain an over 100% return rate.

Sealed boxes would almost instantaneously increase in price to prevent that from happening - there would be so much demand that market dynamics would cause sealed prices to double to triple in price automatically.

I agree with everyone else here - it won’t happen in the real world.

Be glad with your usual 40-60% return on average - that is what happens when box prices equilibrate to the average break.

I understand your point about 10 boxes in a twelve box case being losers, one allowing you to break even and one that will actually get you over 100% back, but the real world also has cases where zero boxes out of twelve get you back anywhere close to the sealed case price.

The primary reason is the breaker culture - the losses are distributed amongst the 30 participants, it just doesn’t “feel” as bad as an individual person opening the case.

Are you finding ones that you think will grade PSA 9? The ones I've seen look like they'd be lucky to get an 8.

Blacks are kind of like PMG's. 8's are great. I've been scooping up a bunch of /68.

I have just picking them up on Ebay, regardless if what they would grade. The look reminds me of the old Topps platinum # style. I probably would not even grade one, unless I packed pulled a top 10 player.

The team cards look nice more Horizontal than vertical. I know the Lakers and the warriors might cost more, but overall it will be a more practical goal for me.

On the low end world i just pick up the Rc's and the goofy looking rc inserts. For $200 a hobby box, i figure i can pretend I am making my own box of singles for $200 and would be happy to have opened.

I have to admit, I am glad, that my man Stockton got a place with a decent picture in the checklist. And I will definetly go for the different black variations. They look just cool. The later Chrome parallels will be highly sought after.

I ordered 12 boxes so please post what you get and your opinions.

I haven't seen any opened yet but someone did the math and they're supposed to be the best "value" per the price point
