Even though he'll never admit it, you gotta think Ohtani was fatigued more than usual, physically and mentally. He was definitely grinding out there on the mound....many times he shook off calls multiple times before settling on a pitch. Still gutted out 6+ innings. I think as long as he gets a chance to swing the bat, he's gonna have a good game tonight. Thinking dropping him down to #2 might actually be beneficial, because BLACK HOLE Pages can't get on base in front of Ohtani if his life depended on it. Maybe put Edman in the leadoff spot, then Ohtani #2, Betts, Freeman, etc. Gotta be able to get some guys on base in front of Ohtani. Also, if Mookie pops up to shallow RF 1 more time, he should drop and do pushups like Willie Mays Hayes in Major League. |

Baseball is hard! There's a reason a .300 hitting average is celebrated but you still fail 70% of the time to have that .300 batting average. It's all about perspective. Also it's alot harder ro dominate as a single player in baseball you only bat once every 9 chances. The team means alot more than a single player that's why the hobby doesn't hold all time greats to the standards of basketball and football players because it's easier for them to dominate their sport as a single player more so with basketball thats why MJ and Kobe get so much love they were a one man wrecking crew who can dominate large parts of a game. Ohtani is fine we're witnessing a once in a lifetime talent. The walks and the marathon game took him out of his rhythm it's up to the rest of the team to pick him up and they didn't. Hopefully the bats can come alive or they are going go lose this series.

He was fine through 6. Dave shouldn't have let him go back out for the 7th, but hindsight is 20/20. And they're trying to win a championship, not maintain optimal individual stats for Ohtani.
Flush it and regroup tonight.

Feeling more exhausted today than yesterday after staying up until 3am to watch the Dodgers win the 18-inning game. Ohtani did well last night, all things considered. The bullpen didn’t do their job. The team’s bats very were quiet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I try to explain this to people who constantly second guess playoff and World Series decisions, especially baserunning, when to bunt, playing small ball (the almost always really stupid idea that some dinosaur Dodgers fans cant let go of. Yes it worked in 1965 when the team batting average was .245 and their home run leader had freaking TWELVE. So crappy lineup, but tremendous pitching and defense and they had to get creative to score even one run). You are matched up with the best of the best. So at times you have to take chances because a better chance may not come along. Thats what happens in a World Series. If a guy on the other team has to make a perfect throw or whatever to make a play happen, its on occasion worth gambling that he wont make that perfect play. Greg Raymer (2004 WSOP Main Event Champion) was in an interview one time and said when it gets down to it, sometimes you have to get the money in no better than 50/50 or even as a slight dog in a 45/55 situation. Its because the players are so good that even if you have an edge, its really slight, and you may not get a better chance than that 50-50 shot. Baseball is no different. At times you need to gamble in the World Series. The second guessers are just that and really just acting out emotionally rather than thinking things through. |

No - I think the Golden Mirror name alone adds more cost. I only have SSPs from 2022. I'll probably work backwards and try for 2021 and 2020 next. Unless I win the lottery, 2018 and 2019 will be out of reach for me and the Golden Mirrors are already too overvalued (IMO) for what they are.
Looking for treasure at a discount involves patience and luck. Two things I lack! haha 6 Bits! Thank you!

I hear you. I’m (very) slowly working my way through the Chrome and flagship SPs. I think the 2022 image variations are some of the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

One of the last ones that snuck through to AG before the LCS bump. The Japan transcendents were flying under the radar for a long time. Not anymore.
