I feel like Gunn overuses the music soundtrack montage, but Oh Lord was still pretty cool. We really didn’t need the Nelson one though. I feel like John Cena and Gunn’s wife have zero chemistry and can’t act. This season was too much about their relationship and showing off their inability to act or have any chemistry together.
When they were jumping through the dimensions I was hoping to see Captain Carrot or something. The whole season just seemed off. Oh well. Season 1 and the 2nd Suicide Squad movie were solid at least. Last edited by finfangfan; 10-11-2025 at 06:37 PM. |

Anyways.. I wasn't disappointed in the season per say...Peacemaker went through hell emotionally.. Now..the abrupt ending of the season finally was definitely weird and awkward... Like...all of a sudden 3 people just quit ARGUS..no questions asked and no repercussions..and they immediately set up and tease Checkmate Also..with that said.. Also weird move saying there are no immediate plans for a season 3, and instead it's more about the broader future of the DCU and Peacemaker is a huge part.. Well..hello..you just introduced Salvation, Checkmate, and Peacemaker dating Harcourt for.....it all to appear randomly in future movies?? The next movies slated are Supergirl, Clayface, Man of Tomorrow, the Authority, Teen Titans, Wonder Woman and Swamp Thing... |

Finale was a bit of a disappointment, but the rest of the season was great. I understand the end is setting up a future storyline, but Gunn was pretty adamant that people would not need to watch other shows or movies to understand what's going on in what they are watching, but I feel like if you hadn't watched Superman you probably would have been a bit lost here. Same with not watching Suicide Squad. I also find it a bit annoying that he's basically making the stuff he did previously canon while ignoring pretty much everything else. I also thought what they did with Rick Flagg in the finale was really stupid. There was no hint that this guy was a goofy as he was in the finale and he definitely did not seem to be the guy getting high and laughing while his men were getting killed investigating the parallel universes. Just silly. |

Black Rabbit on Netflix. Wanted to love it but it was so-so for me. Ozark's ugly little brother.

I watched the first two seasons of Daryl Dixon on Netflix. While the plots of getting Daryl and Carol to France was pretty hokey, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I also thought the 6 episode seasons worked out well. It didn't feel like there was too much filler. The idea of the burners was pretty silly though. It's like it can burn normal human skin, but can't just burn the walker up is pretty stupid.

Watched the Monster of Florence on Netflix, its a foreign show so a little different but not bad. Keeps you guessing. Started watching Guinness on Netflix as well. A few episodes in and its pretty good. Kind of similar to Peaky Blinders in a way. The Allen Iverson Documentary on Amazon has been pretty good so far as well.

I'm about five episodes into Boardwalk Empire and like it so far.
Before that, I tried The Wire. I'm about three episodes in and it's really kinda boring... Does it get better?

I did watch the related(?) HBO miniseries "The Corner" with Charles "Roc" Dutton back then though, and that was superb.

I watched Season 1 of High Potential this weekend. Nice comfort watch. May be a little too much like other shows like Psych and Perception.

First four episodes of The Chair Company are up on HBO. It’s oddball, but I love this type of stuff. Not sure it will last more than one season, so odds are it ends on a cliffhanger and nothing ever gets resolved. It’s fun for now, at least.

It's a huge hit, the way that's measured now, so there should be plenty more episodes to come. The first part of Season 2, seven episodes' worth, just wrapped up and it'll return in January. The original version, from France, I think is also available on Hulu. It's called "HPI" and that's in its 5th season.

There is a surprisingly graphic scene at the very end. According to Reddit, some countries cut it out. I don’t care either way but it def seems a bit out of place from the rest of the show and I can see how people might get annoyed. |

The Chair Company episode 6 is another strong one. Looks like S1 will have 8 episodes total so we will see how it ends. Anyone else watching?

Yes, it was a can't miss on the heels of "Friendship" (and "Detroiters" and "I Think You Should Leave").
It's hitting all of the intended uncomfortable notes. So far, so good.
