Ohtani shouldn't have been back out there for the 7th. I really figured that Roberts would be ecstatic that Ohtani made in through six with two runs. His tank looked empty after the big push through the middle of the lineup in the sixth. I get the bullpen is shaky, but you still need to be smart about it.

Toronto has a gameplan with Snell and he can be a roller coaster. My gut tells me that they will get a couple of early runs against him and put a lot of pressure on the Dodgers. Fun series.

as I said earlier, anyone that thought this would be a Dodgers blowout probably didnt watch a single Jays game before the playoffs. And if they did, they should have known better. This team puts the ball in play. When that happens, good things happen.

I would still trust Snell over rookie Trey tonight. If they can get to Snell early though that will be interesting.

I think the dodgers still win because of Yamamoto

This game is obviously gigantic. I would even say that the entire series hangs in the balance and the winner of tonights game will *probably* be the world series winner

The team winning game 5 in a best of 7 series in the MLB playoffs has won the series 67% of the time. Interesting enough, that number climbs to 83% for the NBA and 79% for the NHL.

I would think that is because Baseball is such starting pitching dependent. The other sports are rolling out the same lineups every night.

from Game 3:

we got there at gate opening (14:08 local). Reserve level shop was already out of the dual logo pins and we went straight there.

big energy in stadium for the first 10 innings.

already touched on but i have no idea what the infatuation is with Treinen by Roberts this year. He's been absolute arse and continues to lose us games or the opportunity to win them.

only terrible pizza and ice cream concessions were open for the final 9 innings.

so many walk-off opportunities that just missed (freddie being part of 2 of those until his last AB).

my 3 world series games have been Game 3 2020, Game 1 2024, and Game 3 this year. 3-0 for the good guys. these past two, wow.

i'm eastern time and was out there for two nights. slept 1.5 hours and got home 8pm last night after connection and driving.

Ohtani and Freeman. Insane.

I believe it is also so the owners do not have to pay the employees (ushers, ticket takers, security) extra money for the day with costs rising. Bastards.

They sure did figure out it was hurting their income with beer sales ending in the 7th and didn't take them long to make it the 8th. Smart Bastards.

Without a doubt, NEVER in ANY PLAYOFF format.
Almost a perfect post. However, there is no exception. The rule is abhorrent in any circumstance.

But not a serious infraction; you are hereby sentenced to two hours community service in the Off-Topic section, and 20 minutes of reading some threads in the Basketball section.

So, I crunched the actual numbers and the Dodgers have scored about 6.5 runs per game when Ohtani has hit well this postseason, and about 3.25 runs when he hasn't. Not surprising that the run total doubles for the Dodgers when their best hitter hits well.

So the Yankees have more fans in the US than the Blue Jays? Knock me over with a feather!

But ratings are up 35% compared to the 2023 World Series between the Rangers and Dbacks.

Yeah I think this game means more to Tor than LA. I wouldn't want to go back home down 3-2 and have to beat Yamamoto. Glasnow wouldn't really scare me in a Game 7.

If there's a game 7, it's all hands on deck. Glasnow might start, but Roberts would have a quick hook and pretty much every pitcher would be available, Ohtani and even Yamamoto. A game 7 could even let us see Ohtani in the OF if he came into the game late to pitch. Hell, he can't be a worse fielder than Teoscar. Lol

I wouldn't think Yamamoto would pitch on consecutive days but who knows.

The guy's a warrior! He'd offer to pitch even after throwing 100 pitches the night before.

Pages not in the lineup, Call in his place. Also, Smith up to #2 behind Ohtani.

Pages has a 3.8 WAR season on baseball reference despite a .318 OBP.

So the stats say Pages is a very good defensive center fielder.
