Correct. Jumbos were gone in a day from Topps. Hobby cases lasted about a week, and Topps did not market BD cases online AFAIK. Your instincts to break by the case are correct though!

Possible, but I get the impression production of 2025 BUC is substantially less than last year - very few cases are available at the major retailers at the moment. It's quite possible some is being held back, of course.

Can’t imagine production being less this year, let alone substantially less. They’ve had some big names (like underwood) lined up for months, no way they printed less imo.

For the major retailers, my guess is they don’t want to sell at the presale prices topps sold it for. These should be closer to $200 a box for hobby than $130, imo.

From what I've seen online Jumbo/Hobby cases are pretty scarce. There are a few Breaker's Delight cases out there and some blaster cases, but that's about it.

The one upside to the thin Michigan checklist in 2025 BUC: no Semaj Morgan, which means as a Michigan BUC collector, I won't feel obligated to buy any of his cards

Semaj was eviscerated on the Michigan subreddit last night.

2025 Bowman Chrome University Football Print Runs & Analysis:

Production numbers:
Total cards produced- 22.54million
Hobby- 72,240 boxes (6,020 cases)
Breaker's- 15,050 Boxes (2,508 cases)
Jumbo- 24,040 Boxes (4,007 cases)
Mega- 117,960 Boxes (5,898 cases)
Value Boxes- 258,160 boxes (6,454 cases)

There is also a Sapphire SKU with an additional 10,100 boxes produced (1,683 cases).

Total Base Chrome Prospects- 86,460 per player

Hit Frequencies:
Hobby (per box)- 2 autos, 10 parallels, 9 inserts
Breaker's- 3 autos, 6.25 parallels, 1 insert per 3 boxes
Jumbo- 4 autos, 11.3 parallels, 8.8 Inserts
Mega- 2 boxes per auto, 5.5 parallels/box, 5.1 inserts/box
Value Box- 9.8 boxes per auto, 4.4 parallels/box, 2 inserts/box
Sapphire- 1.1 autos/box, 3 parallels, 1 insert per 6.2 boxes

Value Landscape:
Values are based on MSRP at release of $140/hobby, $200/Breaker's, $240/Jumbo, $50/Mega, $25/Value. Once secondary market pricing takes hold, best formats for value will likely change depending on pricing.
Currently Hobby is the best overall format for value. It is the cheapest way to pull most parallels and slightly behind Jumbo as cheapest way to pull most autos. Among retail formats, Megas and Values are fairly identical with regard to parallels, with Megas clearly beating Values when it comes to pulling autos. Value boxes are the absolute worst for autos and Breaker's Delight is a red light across the board. I would avoid those altogether.

$ per card:
1) Megas- 83 cents
2) Value Boxes- 89 cents
3) Hobby- $1.75

$ per parallel:
1) Value boxes- $5.72
2) Megas- $8.99
3) Hobby- $14.10

$ per auto:
1) Jumbo- $60.30
2) Hobby- $68.97
3) Breaker's- $86.96
4) Megas- $98.15
5) Value Boxes- $245.03

Print Runs:
Unnumbered parallels-
Refractor- ~21,240
Xfractor- ~3,880
Shimmer (Hobby & Jumbo)- ~340
Stealth (Breaker's)- 75
Black & White Stealth (Breaker's)- ~40
Black & Gold Stealth (Breaker's)- ~20
Teal Lava (Megas)- ~1,770
Pink Lava (Value)- ~3,010
White- 15

Inserts:
1955 Bowman (30 card checklist)- ~18,860
Acropolis (10 card checklist)- 20,000
College Rule Playbook (15 card checklist)- ~19,700
Lettered Up! (25 card checklist)- ~19,170
Path to Glory (20 card checklist)- 19,840
1955 All-American Variation (5 card checklist)- 100
All-American Red, White, Blue appears to be /76
Chrome Mascots Refractors (25 card checklist)- ~85
SP Image Variation Refractors (25 card checklist)- ~475
Dean's List Refractors (20 card checklist)- ~540
Physical Education Refractors (20 card checklist)- ~640

Autos:
Base Prospect Autos (WHOPPING 189 card checklist)- ~730
Prospect Auto Stealth (Breaker's)- 40
Prospect Auto Black & Gold Stealth (Breaker's)- 20
1955 Bowman Autos (30 card checklist)- 99
Acropolis Autos (10 card checklist)- 99
Campus Visit Autos (15 card checklist)- 99
Big Kahuna Autos (19 card checklist)- 100
Campus Star Signatures (42 card checklist)- ~499

Sapphire Print Runs:
Sapphire Base- ~400
Sapphire Selections (20 card checklist)- 30
Sapphire Autos (haven't found a checklist but the math indicates it to be 135 subjects)- 30
Sapphire Selections Signatures (20 card checklist)- 40

Yeah I would have expected it today too. Might mean Monday for those of us outside of 1 day from UPS distribution centers.

I get mine from DAC. I’m expecting shipping notification tomorrow. I’m on the cusp of the 1 and 2 day shipping windows.

About 50-75% of the time I manage to get preorders the day before the street date.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I was just gonna stick with Hobby and Jumbo but something was telling me to get a delight case. I’m sure that will just wind up being a $2300 mistake lol

No such thing as a purchasing mistake with BUC.

I bought a Jumbo case direct from Topps. Interested to see if it arrives this Friday or if i have to wait a week or 2 before it shows up. Also got a couple Hobby boxes for the heckuva it. Looking forward to pulling the Bryce Underwood Superfractor Auto!

So I do have shipping info for my order from Dave and Adams.

If it actually ships today(which I’m expecting it to) I should get the email with tracking info later around 7/8pm.

If that’s the case I SHOULD have my cases tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I'm way behind, but analyzed the checklist today.
Guys that appear to not have autos:
Durrell Robinson - Auburn
Hykeem Williams- Colorado
Josh McCray- Georgia
Tanner Koziol- Houston
Jack Endries- Texas
Junior Vandeross- Toledo
Pierce Clarkson- UCLA
Kennedy Urlacher- USC

I also noticed a couple of guys in the auto list that aren't in the base set. I wish I'd written it down, but I didn't and do not feel like going over the 200-player list again lol

Also fun nugget, WVU's only thing on the list is a mascot auto lol

Bowman Best ordering November 3, much earlier than last year (at least as far as ordering is concerned, not sure about the release date).

IIRC, Chrome Sapphire came out before Best each of the past 2 years but that does not seem to be the case this year.

https://www.topps.com/pages/bowman-u...-best-football

Campus Crests looks cool. Base design is pretty cool too. Jumbo relic seems a little less jumbo than in previous years moving from a larger square to a circle.

My Topps orders shipped - interestingly from Fort Worth TX which I've not seen before.

No shipping info for my Blowout order yet.

UPS has my package. Assuming there are no delays I’ll be opening tomorrow. They usually get here around 5-6pm

Really hoping for an early truck though lol
