That’s good to know thank you. I have a value bulk that delivered on 9/29 so this gives some timeline perspective.

That's hilarious, I finally got a hold of PSA Customer Service (yesterday as well) and they told me they were opening boxes form 9/15 (which mine was there since 9/16).. LMAO

Then they said to give it another week! This is wild.. I cancelled my renewal and won't be subbing again. Seems they want to funnel orders via GameStop.

I dropped off 3 orders off at the in person drop off at CardsHQ in Atlanta in July. Of the 3 orders, one was bulk June special and its currently in assembly. One was a 50 card vintage dual order which is in grading and there's a 40 card dual modern order still just sitting in research and ID. The dual orders have a projected completion of Nov 6th, which is not going to be close. Its almost all PC stuff but this is painfully slow.

What's wild is bulk orders through gamestop are doing 2 months currently. I had a gamestop order that was mailed out sept 1st thats currently in QA. Moving forward anything i can get done through gamestop i will be doing so. They are the same price on bulk, plus i am a gamestop member so I get free shipping, i work on a military base so there are no taxes, and gametop rewards are like 5% back on the next order so a card ends up being around $21.50 all in on sports cards.

GameStop put Nat Turner on their board for a reason. They plan to slow walk personal submissions until people use GsmeStop almost exclusively.

Google isn't a search engine company, it's an advertising company.
Delta/United/American are not airline companies, they are banks with the currency being reward miles/partnerships.

Pretty soon, (maybe already) PSA won't be a grading company anymore. They won't make their money grading cards, they'll make more off of their partnerships via eBay, GameStop, "Partners" paying for Offers privileges, their own PSA Marketplace, Mystery PowerPacks™, etc.

It's why PSA's decisions all seem to screw over actual collectors.
We're not where the money is anymore.

Good, then maybe they won't need to charge $20+ to look at a card for 15 seconds and put a number on it.

They'll charge more. Because they will care even less about collectors than now, once that PowerPack™ unregulated gambling money starts flowing in.

I know, bulk will be $30 per card soon enough. They want to be boujee. They want to be the TCGers grading company. They got a c-suite filled with millennials who are walking around thinking, “Sports cards are dead, TCG is what it’s about.” They don’t want our $30 sports cards. They’ll gladly let CGC take that over.

Except for upcharges, PSA is getting paid upfront on gamestop orders. With direct subs, and subs through pcsportscards, they're getting paid when the job is almost done. (PC doesn't actually invoice you until the order is a day from delivery, and then you can choose to either pay for the grading fees or consign it through them).

It's no surprise that they're prioritizing gamestop orders, but they also know that overall subs would decrease significantly if everyone was paying for grading upfront. That makes a big difference for people who submit frequently.

This is true and they are so big, collectors will not stop submitting with them. Every pov video O watch is 95% PSA dominated. Until collector stop viewing them as thr best of the best, they will do what they want. I, unlike most, am now consistently grading with CGC and bgs.

I use PCSPORTSCARDS for the reason mentioned above because I consign most of my TCG orders and all of my sports.

Im now going on just about a month since my last order arrived, but yet to check into R/ID. Is this the new normal for everyone?

They might be improving slightly. Just had an order enter grading about ten days faster from arrival date than previous one. I'm to the point now where I just send a batch every two or three weeks and largely forget it.

On Sept 28th I dropped off 2 orders at a PSA drop off event at CardsHQ in Atlanta. One was cards and one was tickets, both dual grading. When you drop off in person it does not enter the system until it reaches research and ID, today my order hit research and ID, almost a month from "arrived". My ticket order has still not been checked in. I believe DNA is really backed up based on my other orders with PSA.
As mentioned multiple times, if you have bulk go to Gamestop. My orders with gamestop are right at 2 months door to door. Plus gamestop does 1 day shipping where i am and it ends up being cheaper, again it only works for basic level service.

Dumb question, but is there any kind of motive behind PSA taking forever to finish our orders?

Not on the front end. Just swamped. There's no incentive to slow this part down since they don't get paid until the order is done. They are now making offers on the back end which is probably slowing down shipments since they give people time to decide then they have to pick those.

I don't think there is incentive except the slower bulk times are the more people may be willing to pay for a faster service. I would not think PSA would intentionally slow down orders, however it does seem like the intentionally slowed down orders at SGC at one point.

As with anything with PSA, the answer is always: Money.
If bulk takes forever, it incentivizes people to use upgraded service levels.

Also, for grading, their most expensive cost is labor costs for processing/grading orders. When you have a backlog, staff isn't sitting around doing nothing, and it allows them to schedule staffing/labor much easier, knowing the exact amount of work in the current pipeline, even though it's awful for the customer.

Before Collector's Universe intentionally weakened SGC, SGC caught up and had no backlog. They were turning cards around in about a week to ten days. I'm talking door-to-door. Sometimes I would have cards arrive and be graded the same day. It was fantastic for the customer, but in terms of labor costs, it probably meant there were times where some staff were getting paid and doing little to nothing. Now SGC is taking a week or more to enter in orders, and taking the full 20 business days. Very PSA-like...aka, it sucks.

My recent Value order hit QC checks. Then after a few days the list disappeared. Then checking today, the list came back again. Should I be expecting an upcharge email or is this normal protocol?

Assembly was completed on my value bulk order over 2 weeks ago and it's been stuck at QA checks since. Arrived on 8/6 with estimated completion date of 11/7.
