I am excited to see if the Bucks play the pick-and-roll with Giannis and Turner tonight. Also wondering if KPJ will get off to a hot start and get a bump in the hobby-world.

Throughout the game, all I kept thinking was "They would look great with a PG".

I don't think they are in a hurry. They can wait a bit, I don't think they'll fall out of the Top 8. That being said, Eason didn't get extended and Tre Jones only makes 8M a year. One can dream.

Yeah Reed really got exposed in basically every way except making the occasional bucket in this one, especially on defense where OKC just attacked him every time

Tari's performance was also disappointing, he looked like he didn't know what he should be doing whenever he was on the court

As far as available point guards, I think it's slim pickings out there right now... Ben Simmons?

So I think there’s some cap issue that prevents the rockets from even signing a Vet min until January?

Without a trade I have no idea what they can do besides maybe getting lucky with a 2 way.

I think Ben Simmons wouldn’t help. He’s a way worse version of Amen even if he’s a much better playmaker.

I think the Rockets got kind of fooled by this “all big” thing that Udoka seems to love and didn’t consider anyone who can actually facilitate lol

If the Trailblazers open the season badly and are willing to part with Jrue Holiday I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him

Holiday would be amazing. You don’t lose much defensively, and you get a really great vet who can shoot a little and run your offense in a way that’s low usage

He’s making 35mil a year over the next 3 seasons. Not sure Houston’s cap can take that on, but I also like the fit

Agreed.

Without Jalen Green or FVV, they've got nobody to run their offense.

They'd be better off just chucking shots up and using their frontcourt size to try and kill people on the offensive boards.

HOU should look at Ayo if you want a long, defense first PG that can run the PnR, or Tre Jones for a poor man's FVV.

Yes the Lakers, outside of Luka and Ayton through the 1st quarter were terrible...the bench is still terrible..

Makes sense now. The football forum on Sundays is 10 hours of people celebrating interceptions, complaining about refs, trashing Mahomes, and bashing each other's home teams until somebody crosses a line and gets a temporary suspension from the mods... and then you guys all gather again for the next Sunday. Sounds like a blast!

If you want to have solid, somewhat intelligent conversation about sports for hours, listen to the broadcasters. It isn't easy being assigned a Browns/Dolphins game where the freaking Browns are actually blowing them out, but those guys can still make it sound like they are calling the Super Bowl with 2 minutes left in the 4th. You can be objective without calling players or teams "trash, abysmal, or ass" 2 hours into opening night.

If you ever come back here, you'll see that the discussion during basketball games is actually interesting. That's not to say there isn't drama at times, but you won't find many people referring to the MVP as trash after a bad quarter. Perhaps the football forum has poisoned the well for you but the baseball and basketball forums are actually pretty good when it comes to in-game and in-season discussion.

Houston was taking way too many threes when 90% of their possessions should’ve been two-point shots, given how tall they are. OKC’s defense was noticeably effective—especially with Houston’s seven-footers hanging out at the three-point line. I think they had 22 turnovers compared to OKC’s 11. On top of that, OKC won the fast-break points 16 to 2. Even so, Houston still managed to stay slightly ahead until the end.
All of those issues could be easy to fix with a natural point guard.

It’s also worth noting that OKC wasn’t really themselves in the first half, and Williams didn’t play.

Agree with much of this but also would give Amen/Reed a few weeks to see if they can figure it out. OKC has one of the best defenses of modern era. Let’s see how it looks against some more reasonable competition.

Time to trade Jarrett Allen.

He’s just not very important to the Cavs and he’s still got some value.

Hawks need to fire Snyder. About to give up 140 to the Raptors at home.

Just silliness from the Hawks tonight. Kennard looks horrific. Porzingis going through the motions for the nine zillionth time in his career. Trae shot selection typical. Dyson Daniels five fouls in 12 minutes. NAW post getting paid. I don't know why I get sucked in.

He just doesn't seem to fit with what they are trying to do on offense.

He'll look 'better' once Garland is back, but it might not be enough to make him very valuable to the team
