Before this thread falls off the 1st page, decided to add my Wemby PC here: Wemby

Not meant to wow. Very unsure if I can add anymore before the season. Family responsibilities are changing rapidly here so PC adds are dwindling fast all around. 17/68 are jersey #'d and several were pulled via group break. Some are commons so it shows this collection had to use some quantity over quality.

Even though the NBA season is way longer than an NFL, I plan the same approach. No buying once the season begins until SA is done. Offseason only buying assuming I'm able to next year.

Started this PC because of 3 reasons. 1, the first 23/24 loose boxes I opened myself had a Victor /50 in them. 2, hit some solid ones via group break so that is cool. And 3rd, maybe most importantly, Victor is the 1st athlete to truly make my dad get bright eyed. He's not an inherent sports fan by nature. Preferred academics but we watch sports and highlights together. Watching Wemby highlights literally makes my father say "Wow." And that's it. He's critical of nearly everything even non-sports topics. Basketball was the rage when I started collecting and he helped put the master set of 94/95 Skybox Emotion the old fashioned way going to every card shop in the county looking for inserts off a hand written checklist while I was hospitalized for pneumonia thanks to CF. No internet help. So basketball has a shared memory I assume. We watched the Rockets win back to back and bought the hats and T shirts to match. Hard to leave the sport and the cards that go with it in other words.

My sad story. Take care.

For those that like weird lower pop stuff....Wemby has cards in Bo Jackson Battle Arena as the hero Victory. They recently came out with a super premium product called blast (think cracked ice kabooms). All base cards are printed to 16 copies or less.

I hit these in a break last week and cant wait to get in hand. The Glow is prob /5 and /2 or 3 on the Gum.

For those curious on value, I was offered $2500 on the spot for the Gum.

I am freaking stoked to have won this last night.

Actual game used tag 1/1.

The non licensed autos do nothing for me. Licensed 2023 and 2024 cards are where it's at. In a world full of parallels and rainbows that mean nothing, finding actual game used items seems like a no brainer for early Poopini era Wemby. In 2023 that leaves you with only Flawless. In 2024, there aren't many tags/logos other than the degen gambler products and maybe silhouettes.

Parking this one alongside the 2023 Flawless diamond which I think has legs.
