How in the world could you still have Baker first?

Forget the "big guys" - I don't even care about them right now

At this point, through 7 weeks, Daniel Jones should absolutely be ahead of Baker. It really shouldn't even be a debate

Jones is better statistically overall and dragged the Colts to 6-1 (if we want to bring team performance and "valuable" into this)

Your list is crazy town

His list isn't 1-7 by odds.

I know that

He said they were his rankings and not Vegas

Which is what makes it even more insane

Vegas fluctuates when money comes in. I know how it works

I meant it wasn't 1-7 by who he has ranked 1st-7th, it just his list of Top 7 names in no particular order, unless I'm misremembering from last week.

If that’s the case? That should be noted (I didn’t see last week… so I’m wrong if that’s what he always does)

Would seem like a random order if this wasn’t rankings though

Dak should also be on it

Regardless Daniel Jones should be ahead of Baker in whatever “rankings” people have

So carry on. Haha

Yes, it's a 1-7 ranking. I have no issues with folks having other opinions, and if you have D. Jones ahead of Baker, you could make that case. The reason I have Baker still in first (barely, though) is that just because he had a bad game this week, it shouldn't count against him more than if it happened week 2. Another reason I have him above D. Jones is that -

a) Just like last season, voters will discount a QB if they are playing with the best running back in the league. Right now, J. Taylor is equal in value (again, my opinion) to D. Jones, similar to how you could have made the case last season that D. Henry was equally valuable as LJack was. This is why J. Allen won the MVP last season.

b) J. Hurts is never in the MVP conversation and no one is banging down doors about that. He may well have been the MVP of back-to-back SBs, but because S. Barkley is in the backfield, he's always working from a deficit. If you compare the two (Hurts/Jones), it's not that big of a difference.

I agree with you on Dak, and if the Cowboys can work themselves 2-3 games above .500, then I'm on the Dak train. He and J. Allen are my two favorite QBs other than Rodgers. The record has to be there, though, and 3-3-1 isn't doing it.

So you have Baker #1 as of today?

Or are you saying this is just a random 7 dudes?

I want to make sure I'm crystal clear

Since that would be flat out insane

Want there to be no confusion

Good question, since he was on my list last week. As opposed to other posters, I'll give my rationale for why he fell off.

The reason I had him on initially, but came off this week was due to a convergence of RB stats. The issue for J. Taylor is while he may be the best "traditional" RB this season, the more hybird RBs (McCaffery/Bijan/Gibbs/Irving) have more value. Now, J. Taylor has increased his pass-catching abilities this season, but his value is mostly as a runner.

Because a RB would have to rush for 3,000 yards when Mahomes and Allen are relevant.

Honestly don't see Baker or Goff moving too much after tonight but we'll see.
24 hours later-
Mahomes +125
Allen +350
Maye +700
Baker +900
Stafford +1200
Goff +1800
Jones/Dak +2200

Jones still seems like a fun sweat

The awfulness of Baker's MNF game really setting it.

As for Dak... something to keep in mind: In about 5 weeks he will be playing in what'll be the most watched regular season game in NFL history. If he plays out of his mind and beats the Chiefs, the national media will be all about him heading into the home stretch.

I’d put baker 5th for now based on that list. That was a really poor showing vs the Lions.
