PS. It's looking like one of the better buys from the ePack days... They had boxes, towards the end, for $50. If you held till today, the minimum value is $51~. Crazy!

I'm looking for some clarification regarding a port sale with my COMC account.
As of this moment I have a total of 3881 cards in my COMC inventory. I would like to reduce my inventory down to about 400-500 cards. I'm thinking port sale. Questions on creating my port sale: 1) I have to mark every card I want in that port sale as "For Sale", right? 2) In additional, any cards I do NOT want to sell in the port must NOT be marked as "For Sale", instead should be marked as "Ready To Ship", for example? 3) While my port is for sale, can individual cards in that port be sold? Or must every card in the port be sold as a group, as part of the whole port? I ask because some of the port might be more attractive to buyers than others. If I price items on the low side, and buyers can purchase individual cards from the port, the attractiveness of the entire port might be lessened over time. Thus it might be better to price all items in the port on the "high side", and then put a price tag on the whole port that is significantly less than each individual priced card. Right? 4) Is it possible to sell other cards - not in the port - while I have a port sale going on? If not, that means my non-port inventory, some of which may be very attractive to buyers, is on hold until my port sale is completed. Right? I'm just trying to understand how these port sales work before I create one. Thanks for your time. |

Am I the only one that doesn't understand auctions no matter what they do? They said they want to make it less confusing but I'm not sure it is

Sorry, just saw this.
The submission showed up a few weeks ago, about a month or so after the show. Processing hasn't started yet and they are projecting late January to finish it.

All of the cards in that range that you place in the port can all sell individually at their list price (or sale price) or within the whole port. If a card is marked Not For Sale (doesn't have to be Ready to Ship), it will not be in the Port. If a card sells in the port, no problem. If you set your port to 2000-now and a card from 1989 sells, it wasn't in the port. So you can lower the prices on the cards not in the port settings you made. However, if someone sends you an offer and within the meantime of you accepting it, one of the port cards is purchased, you won't be able to accept because the port changed. But you'll be able to make a counteroffer to the submitter and it will remove the cards that are no longer in the port. That's just part of the process. If you list a new card within the same range as your port, it will now be a part of the Port, unless you cancel the port. So don't add a $500 card unless you mean to. |

seems like between increased shipping costs, terrible customer service, and probably something else I'm forgetting many people have slowed down their COMC use this year.

The discount used to be for all service levels. Did that change recently? I have over 600 regular service ones that are due on Wednesday.

My apologies for this COMC Rookie question - with the new submission categories, am I reading it right that for any card sent in to be listed on eBay, COMC will take 5% for cards over 1k and 8% + flat $5 for anything under? And that's the CASH OUT price? No additional 10% fee if I go this route? So a 1K sale would result in $950 to me?

Thank you. Over 450 cards from my remaining order dropped last night. Went through them all and requested 25-30 corrections (mostly parallels). Won't price anything until tonight as I am at the show in Nashville this weekend.

For those saying they have bad months...I took all my sales from each month (since I joined back in 2018) and averaged them out and ranked each month in terms of sales and gave a percent above/below average Here were my rankings :
1. September +16% 2. April +15% 3. February +8% 4. January +4% 5. March +4% 6. May +4% 7. November +2% 8. December +1% 9. July -12% 10. August -15% 11. June -15% 12. October -30% Granted, I have a lot of baseball so mine probably skews toward spring. But I think a combination of spring training & basketball playoffs & bored with no football really drives the spring to be the best time on COMC. Summer vacations and the holidays drive down months like July, August, and December. Not sure what October's problem is other than people spent too much after September? |

Maybe others have my buyer mindset that unless it's a bargain or difficult to locate card, just wait for the Black Friday event that is coming fast, when even Uncle Scrooge might have 10% off plus whatever rebates and hopefully shipping voucher COMC throws in. That, plus I need to cover submission costs for those 2000 cards. I put in my shipment request for 131 cards on Monday and I don't plan on buying many more until the sale. |

My port is also baseball heavy. |

From a quick look, the overall volume on their eBay accounts (comc_consignment and tcgbycomc) seems lower than usual this week for whatever reason, and since we're only halfway into October, that is probably part of the problem.

It doesn’t pertain to me but COMC isn’t accepting drop offs at their office anymore.

I did a small drop-off at the Nashville show this morning. According to the lady I talked to, there are only a couple of people who travel to shows. There used to be more, but they quit. This might explain the delays in getting orders from the shows to the warehouse and then opening those orders up.

Is anyone having issues with comc finishing posting full orders?
I have about 40-50 cards yet to be listed from a 1500 card order. They were originally supposed to be posted by mid-September, then October 1, then mid-October and now the end of October. Every time the due date comes, it just gets bumped with no movement. Every other card got posted by the original date except these stragglers. |
