Had an MRI on his ankle due to an injury from a hip tackle during his "fumble". Which wasn't a fumble, btw.

Replays reveal that his shin was down before the ball popped out.

https://x.com/Rate_the_Refs/status/1972379674216198549

The refs blew so many calls during that game. Here's a non-call on Godwin's jersey being used like a dog-leash. Obviously, a DPI/hold. No flag.

Same thing happened to Emeka Egbuka later in the 4th quarter. No flag there either.

Eagles getting ref favoritism these days. Not calling offsides on the tush push either.

Definitely...

The tush push needs to just go away. The refs aren't consistently calling it.

If the refs could call a more balanced game when the Eagles are involved, it wouldn't be so bad, but just a week earlier, the Rams got hosed on a few missed calls that allowed the Eagles to come from behind and win.

Philadelphia’s first Tush Push play of the game should have been a false start, but the refs didn’t call it, the obvious push-off by AJ Brown in the end zone, and the most ridiculous one, a 15-yard taunting penalty called on Puka Nacua for pointing at the end zone after picking up a 1st down.

This is a Bucs thread, but when those types of dubious missed calls show up in the following game, it does cast some doubt.

Congratulations to Bucs wide receiver Emeka Egbuka for winning NFL Rookie Of The Month!

Through four games Emeka Egbuka has compiled 18 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns. Egbuka led all rookies in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and yards per reception in September, while tying for the rookie lead in total touchdowns scored (four). Among rookie wide receivers, he ranked first in yards from scrimmage (291) and yards after catch (115), while tying for the most receptions (18) and ranking second in receiving first downs (11).

His four touchdowns is just two behind Amon-Ra St. Brown for the league lead. Crazy stat for a rookie with only 4 games under his belt.

With Bucky Irving possibly out, and Chris Godwin not fully at 100%, look for Egbuka to continue his hot streak against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Let's Go Bucs!

Egbuka has been solid. I’m worried one of the big 3 takes a huge hit once they are all finally healthy.

I mean what an incredible win. Baker was absolutely insane, dudes been lights out the whole year

Also I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Egbuka pick but my lord he’s already an elite WR. Gladly admit I was wrong to be anything but ecstatic about him

4-1, dominating the division. Big 2 games coming up nfc wise. Would love to be 6-2 going into the bye week when we get plenty of guys back

Saw this interesting nugget this morning:

Emeka Egbuka becomes the first player in NFL history with 25+ catches, 400+ receiving yards and 5+ TDs in his first 5 NFL games.

Big game at home vs the 49ers. If the Bucs are able to win, it places them in the driver's seat the rest of the season.

Let's go Bucs!

Like Baker. Fun team to watch.

I don't think they have enough on D though to make a deep run.

What can ya say other than Baker playing like a dang MVP out there

5-1, lot of injuries but if you can split the next 2 and go into the bye 6-2, you’re sitting pretty

Watching First Take this Morning:

4 out of five analysts besides Jeff Saturday who is a clown picking the Buccaneers as number one team After week six and all 5 Unanimously pick Baker Mayfield as MVP

And now that it looks like Mike Evans is finally returning I'm also seeing several outlets Picking the Buccaneers as the favorite over Detroit Next week.

You love to see it!

Fun time for sure. Hoping everyone can get healthy and we can shore up the defense as we go!

As you said love to see what's happening right now

Is anyone here in any Buccaneers related card groups on Facebook? I recently joined Buccaneers Cardboard Chaos and am enjoying it. Just wondering if there are any other good ones?

I have been solicited to join Buccaneers Cardboard Chaos before, but I mostly stay away from FB groups because of the sketch mods/members that most of them attract. Didn't used to be that bad, (I have belonged to a few in the past) but nowadays I just steer clear of them.

Good Luck to you though, hopefully it's one of those "rare" well-run FB groups! Keep us posted!

In other news, Mike Evans, coming off a hamstring injury has been cleared to play Monday Night, and Jamel Dean won NFC Defensive Player of the Week!

Let's Go Bucs!

So far it seems like a really well run group. Of course there are a lot of razzes, but that it pretty common in most Facebook groups these days. I've gotten some nice stuff so far, not from razzes, but outright sales.

Reports are that Mike Evans is out the rest of the regular season. The hope is that he will be back in time for the postseason. He's a tough one, and I expect he will do everything he can to get back.

Also, despite a bad game against the refs in Detroit, Mayfield isn't out of the MVP convo. Yes, the refs totally hosed Baker in some questionable calls, especially the "leg whip" that wasn't called.

Moving On.

Bucs face the Saints on Sunday, which "should" be a Tampa Bay W

Then the bye week, which helps Baker and his team get healthy, get reset, etc.

Then at home in TB vs the Patriots which, if Baker and the Bucs win that game, could get Baker and the team back to where they were prior to the Lions kerfuffle

The tough games are going to be the 2 following the Patriots, @ Bills and @ Rams (I'll be at that game ), that's a lot of travelling against some tough opponents, but if the Bucs can come out of the 4-game stretch with a 3-1 or even a 2-2 record, Baker's MVP chances are in good shape, and the Playoff hopes (even without the services of Mike Evans ) are still alive.

Let's Go Bucs!

The craziest part was the Refs throwing all of those inaccurate passes to Bucs WRs. They really had it out for you guys.

I agree the leg whip was a play that should have been called, but to act like the loss was on officiating when you lose by 15 is a little wild. I like Baker, but also thought he was a bit whiny there. He was really upset when they went back for the 2nd half of a review, and got it right.

You're reading a little too much into it. I never said anything of the sort. But the refs were awful in the game. Even Dean Blandino said earlier this morning, that the Officials shouldn’t have overturned the Cade Otton catch.

You said "despite a bad game against the refs in Detroit, Mayfield isn't out of the MVP convo. Yes, the refs totally hosed Baker in some questionable calls, especially the "leg whip" that wasn't called"

You didnt say the Lions dominated the Bucs, and Baker lost. You blamed the refs.

The same refs, that forced Baker to only complete half of his passes and throw a pick.

Total ref hose job! Sure, some bad calls were made like every single game ever. But to blame the refs and not Baker for this one, is weak sauce. He made it a cake walk for the Lions. And the game wasn't nearly as close as the final score.

We should rename this thread Misfire the Cannons...

Operative word, "some" questionable calls. Baker had a bad game. There's no disputing this. I basically said this in the first part of the first sentence, when I said, "...despite a bad game... Baker is not out of the MVP convo."

Anyways, the Bucs are travelling to New Orleans, and I don't expect a repeat performance by Baker in that game. I think he'll look to "right the ship" for that one.
