Downtown Charlotte is even worse. Trying to.food on a Sunday after 7 was like trying to predict the lottery numbers.

There's a reason a lot of places in these cities close early.

Downtown ATL after 10:00 PM is probably worse than downtown Indianapolis after 10:00 PM.

It's fine. It's like any other city or town in the the world just be aware of your surroundings.

Already people calling about last night and I just got to work. I wish we could just ban all spectators and only have the kids that are playing there.

To complain about other fans? About the cops?

Sun-thurs there's just not enough business travelers to justify keeping them open real late in many major cities. I go few miles out a la Midtown and there's options then.

I've been to ATL a good 5-10 times. We typically fly into ATL, then drive to my wife's family 2 hours away.

I believe this is the 5th one this year. Downtown gave me the best rate. I dunno what is going on but a Hampton Inn in Decatur wanted 300/night

We need to ban the kid that blocked the other kid because he hits to hard. Hits to hard! In a sport where you are supposed to hit people. In a violent game where there is a penalty called UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS, meaning that there is roughness as part of the game. In a game where the main piece of equipment you wear has a warning on the back saying "even wearing this equipment won't stop you from suffering serious brain damage".

City and state's are ridiculous with "holidays." Across the river, Charles County now celebrates every Muslim holiday. I never met a single person in that county that worshipped Islam. Their government employees always seem to be off for a "holiday."

Your second sentence just proved my original point.

In South Carolina, state level employees now have a floating holiday that they can take "whenever" they want. Basically they did away with confederate memorial day and added juneteenth, but didn't want to deal with it so they gave a floating holiday so people could take either.

Yes, because walking around Ridgefield, CT is the same as Washington D.C.

And no one ever gets shot or killed for being an innocent bystander in crime-ridden cities.

Nobody willingly decides to go to the crime ridden areas of a city.

If you use your common sense and stick to well populated, well lit areas 99% of the time you will be perfectly fine.

Gotta be careful what you eat & drink in Ridgefield. You might get poisoned.

I chose Ridgefield because it's recognized as the least violent crime city in the US per 1,000 capita people.

Apparently you've never gone to a Chicago White Sox night game and used the L station that serves the ballpark.

All you guys saying avoid the bad areas, come to Mississippi where the type of area can change without warning. Sometimes within a mile. A lot of places are that way nobody intentionally goes into the bad areas. When I moved to Florida in the early 80’s I would ask my co workers which areas not to venture to at certain times same when I moved to Mississippi. It’s not hiding under your covers it’s taking wise precautions.

Do we need to put an APB out for Josie? Boo, get on it! Hopefully she is all right. After all, nobody knows what day it is. Seriously, this is unusual for her unless she is traveling.

I am all packed up and ready to go to Nashville. COMC will be accepting submissions there, so I may box up the couple hundred or so cards I have ready for them and bring them with me. Aside from that, I am just going to relax tonight and try to get to sleep by around 8. I have been up since 4 this morning to try to make it easier on my system tomorrow. No naps today.
