EQL is the worst. What a bummer.

The Wacky Halloween post card sets used to be $15-20 each year and have a guaranteed sketch card, plus every post card came signed. I don't think they ever sold out.

Shocking to see this as an EQL drop.

Some of the most popular cards in the original Wacky sets were the tobacco cards, but those were later banned in the 2000s except for high end reprint sets. I think they know that no kids are buying these.

They do target kids with the mass market value boxes at Target and Wal-Mart (used to be $10/box pre-covid, now $20-30/box). They also used to carry single packs for $1 at Dollar Tree pre-covid. Those packs aimed at kids do not have alcohol or tobacco cards.

Topps.com Wacky Halloween sets were always print to demand in recent years. I think they usually sold around 500 boxes. They could print 5,000 and this will probably sell out just because of how Fanatics markets this stuff. So less limited with a much high price, but people will eat it up.

The up side for collectors and the artists that work on the sets is that if they are selling more of them than they used to, they'll probably start doing more sets.

I'm not sure what you mean. Previous sets were $50/box.

I don't believe these are being sold as sets (like Topps "On Demand"). My understanding is that they will be hobby boxes with inserts, foil parallels, and sketch cards. I can't imagine hobby boxes would be $50.

I think you're right, it says this: "A Laugh Riot in every pack."

I thought these were being released as sets with hits. Appears they’re being released à la blaster box style. 8 packs per box with 10 cards per pack. Strange given how small the checklist is. But can’t wait to see Halsey & Neil Camera’s sketch cards for the release!

The 2024 set was released as a blaster box as well. 8 packs per box. 1 sketch per box. They were actually $79.99 per box, which was a jump from previous years. The 2023 set was $49.99.

Still shows as picking winners. Does it usually take this long?

It does not. They're still handpicking who should win and how many to actually make available... a day later. Fun.

I'm still reeling that he said these first two sentences:

Won 3 boxes right now. First time success on EQL. $294.42 for 3 blasters seems pricey lol.
