When Update went up for presell wasn't it advertised sometime in October? Great.

So....no release dates for any baseball products that people actually care about....Ginter, Platinum Anniversary, Archives, HHN, etc.

Gilded was released in November last year.

Could they possibly cancel it this year?

Update to Nov 12th, which is the date the gave Pro Debut today, so thats being pushed too.

I get dates are subject to change, but advertising both on pre-orders knowing they wont come out then is pretty annoying.

Exactly. There might be a 5 percent chance they didn't know Update was getting moved when they pre sold it but 0 percent chance they didn't know about Pro Debut. i mean just presell it later. Are they really that hard up for our money early?

Yea, I think thats partially true. I'm sure someone has the math on how much money they brought in today, but that's about 750k. they now have ahead of time. Anyone angry enough about it to cancel their order will just go into the hopper to sell on release for more than pre-sell. This is what happens when you have no competition to worry about.

Ginter & Cosmic Chrome go up for preorder 10/20 so just add 4ish weeks to that for the release date.

Releases don't have to be a full week apart, especially with Pro Debut having a very different audience than Cosmic Chrome.

If Update really is 11/12, Pro Debut could just be 11/13 or something. Cosmic Chrome and Ginter the following week just on different days. (M/W or something)

Typically Topps releases on Wednesdays, rarely Fridays. Surely possible they could do 11/14, just from experience Topps typically spreads out same sport releases.

Or doesn't release again at all, like Topps Triumphant. The preorder gave a release date, then it never released again and the entire website was scrubbed of all mentions of the product.

Sorta' on par with what they did for Pro Debut, too! Initial street date was advertised for a (if I recollect, correctly?) late-August release. Then,...pushed back to early September, only to be moved to mid-September, and then, eventually; completely scrubbed from Topps' website,...one day prior to sale date, last month? Finally/actually listed for pre-order, yesterday, but; minus any notation or reference to the... "chase cards" which they had originally advertised (MiLB Logoman 1 of 1's from some of the games brightest, prospects!?!) Which,...presumably; ain't happenin'!?!

I think Topps badly wants a Pokemon-type of license. Sports cards are on the decline.

The Labubu craze has already faded, though, similar to the Beanie Baby craze of the 90s.

But, why waste an opportunity to print something that will fade in 6 months leaving everybody who bought at high prices holding the bag when they have products, ie update, that will always have demand?

I don't get it. Are they printing too many garbage sets like labubu that is causing the delays? Or is it that they are having quality control issues that are causing delays? I mean, my topps chrome sapphire cards were mostly garbage, especially for a high end set like that. Lots of print lines and indents galore. I was rather pissed to be honest. Or is it a combination of: printing too much and quality issues bc they're printing too much?

This would end my Chipper Jones "Through the years" collection. Gilded has become the only way to get Chipper in a current year flagship design card. I do have the 2025 First Pitch card, but not quite the same.

Topps already has quite a few non-Sports licenses, with Star Wars being the most prominent. If you look at the release calendar, they're releasing far more non-baseball products these days than baseball products, which is yet another reason so many of us are frustrated. They've got UFC/Racing/Tennis products as well as non-sports.

I didn’t even buy one pack of last year’s Archives. I love Archives but I’m not impressed with offerings. Heritage still fills the void of a nostalgic cards from my early collecting days growing up.
