Default Tim’s Cards Are Out

Surprised Trump didn’t make a presidential declaration that Tim Hortons must leave the US unless the cards are sold equally there as well. First thing Canada has over the US since Four Nations lol jk

Can he make a declaration that Tim’s has to leave Canada? They could be giving away gold bars there I’d avoid it for the hepatitis odds.

There's a Tim's 5 minutes from me here in north Georgia, went once and since they don't get cards nothing else is drawing me back.

Yeah Tim’s sucks and half the time cards get backdoored/stolen/hits taken from employees. Unfortunately cards are so expensive and since those issues happen outside Tim’s as well that these are actually still a better value proposition than most products. 1:100 pack chance at a case/box? Hit that goes for around $100 CAD at least for the first bit and 1:200 chance at box/case hit that goes for double that. Value was discussed in another thread I’d say as wild as it may sound these are a good value proposition as you can as many do leave none for the kids and purchase a sealed box, guaranteeing at least the first 1:100 hit (National Selections) which should cover about half a box and also a chance at the 1:200 hit where you’d be ahead. I didnt think they’d put both in a box but unless it was UD shenangihans which is possible GP Sports cards pulled both hits in his box. That’s not even mentioning that people in Canada do like putting these sets together so you can also probably make back another $5-10 here and there depending on rarity selling insert sets you’re sure to complete one or two of opening a box.

I’ll just grab a pack here and there hoping I get lucky, knowing my luck I’d get the worst player and only the 1:100 hit lol but I almost passed altogether but when I thought about it I realized you’re getting it less or atleast the same as trying any other product

Before shipping was insane I picked up 200 packs of the Rookie Review or whatever the second set was last year. Made back every penny and had a blast with them as a degenerate set builder.

Thanks. I was hoping to save a stop. Though I have zero hope for the location in midtown, it seems to be a Tim's in name only really and inside a gas station.

That set aesthetically was very nice, I loved the base design, actually stayed away as I’d want to complete the set lol

It’s a fun rip though, many times I see inserts that are better than ones in flagship lol I’m always surprised by how cool 1-2 inserts are per set.

I have about 20 packs I'll be ripping on the podcast this week. My favourite release of the season.

May be a dumb question but are these still a Canada exclusive or do Timmy Ho's in the northern border states have a shot?

That must be new, was in Detroit a few years ago during "card time" and tried to get some but was told it was "Canada Only"

Pretty sure these are still Canada only. Have seen nothing to the contrary yet this year.

Went to the Tims instagram, it calls out Canada only.

Canadian site shows the cards, American site does not.

Also Canada has much better food options I see!

I’d imagine this is a reverse situation that happened in Canada for UFC/NFL. When they did have them, they probably weren’t that popular as I know US has gotten them before. Now everyone wants them lol similar to how UFC/NFL was going to Canada then tickets were expensive so they didn’t always sell out and people complained then they stopped and now everyone want them again lol

People always want what they can't have.

Plus the inserts are pretty cool.

I’m all for US getting them, just saying I could see why they discontinued them in the US if sales weren’t there. Even if they produced half the amount they do for Canada if they don’t move it’s not the end of the world but it’s not like they can send em to Canada the promotion runs while it runs and there’s not much else to do with Tims cards unless they wanna make em a bonus pack in series two lol

Also I should probably not say “everyone” it’s more so probably the true fans aka the vocal minority who do collect and want these cards but you could probably do an exit poll at Tims and have a small majority not know Tims in Canada even has cards and a large majority who say they wouldn’t buy or be interested in them. It’s unfortunate as their as definitely some markets who these would do well in I assume but then it’s logistics of who gets them and I don’t know if a promo like that they would even consider only doing in certain markets. Not saying they’d do well but too bad places like Utah couldn’t get them, you have a new market it would be a perfect opportunity to get kids into the team/hockey/cards all at once.

Agreed that folks like me are the outlier on wanting these in the US. I can't imagine more than a handful of people here in Forsyth County GA wanting to pick these up.

Just don't tell the planners in the County trying to build an arena and get yet another NHL team down here.

They could always just offer them at stores in the US cities that have teams or bordering cities...

I'm in WNY, close enough to the border, close enough to Buffalo... Not gonna drive to Buffalo for these if they were available, but I'm close enough for some Timmy Ho card love

Honestly, the inserts are pretty bland and feel similar to flagship Upper Deck inserts. They used to have some cool die-cuts, lenticulars, and acetate cards that you could hit with 1:24 or better odds.

I think the Co-stars (1:25) and National Selections (1:100) are pretty cool. I also like the photography in the Milestones set, even if the design itself isn't spectacular. Actually really don't like the Powerhouse Pillars, the 1:200 chase.
