That's assuming the ratio stays the same as it is now. When silver hit almost $50 in 2011, gold was around $1900 or 38:1 ratio roughly.

There was a bit of a pullback last week before bouncing back on Friday, but now the metals are marching forward again.
Gold at a new record high at $3,750.20 (+$51.40 today), silver crossed $44 at $44.02 (+$0.74 today).

I keep waiting for profit taking or a pullback, but metals keep rising. There have been a few dips, but they last just a couple of days before the metals continue rising.

Gold briefly hit $3,800 this morning (currently $3,793) and silver hit $44.61 (currently $44.51)
I haven't been following platinum much, but it just passed $1,500 after jumping over $70 today.

At this rate that could be any day now. Silver up a massive +$1.26 to $45.38 today and all the other metals are up big time, except gold. Gold up +$13.10 today to $3,763.30, about $48 down from it's all time high the other day.

Platinum and palladium are both up about $55 today.

Looks like we were both right, you had silver hitting $47 and I said at its current rate it might hit that in a few days. 5 days later silver just hit $47.01 (+$0.74) and gold set a new record high at $3,841.80 (+$67.95)

I could see gold hitting $4,000 and silver finally crossing the $50 mark soon.

A lot of volatility today. When I turned in last night gold was +$3 and silver was +$0.13, I got up 90 minutes ago and gold was -$23 and silver was down -$0.88.
I just checked again and now gold is up +$14.70 and silver is still down but recovered to -$0.30

Potential silver prices:

$132 at gold-silver ratio of 30 (2011)

$233 at gold-silver ratio of 17 (1980)

Silver is dirt cheap.

Bought a number of 100 oz bars in the early aughts for $4.xx/oz for S&G. They sit in my safe and I rarely think about them. I may need to figure out where to sell them at.

Must have been quite the roller coaster to watch today, I see it dropped to $49.15 by close and has rebounded to $49.93 currently.
