If you want to do an art-themed set, as least choose a good artist.....there are plenty of better artists out there than Andy Friedman including many who already do work on other Topps products like Juan Rosales, Jared Kelley, etc.
And seeing crap like this getting released begs the bigger question....why is Topps/Fanatics putting time/effort/money into releasing products like this (or Bob Ross) when it can't even get it's bread and butter products that have huge followings out the door on time, like Stadium Club, Ginter, Archives, HHN, Platinum Anniversary, etc. Last edited by mfw13; 10-04-2025 at 12:40 PM. |

Not my favorite style either, but these sold well last year so there are people who like his art.

I think it's called Bubblegum Foil, only in the single boxes.
I got one of the Artist cards (SP), non-auto. Can't tell how rare they are yet, but that was probably my best card. This product would be more fun at $40 rather than $60 with shipping. I prefer this product to the Bob Ross set, which I find terribly cheesy. Also, if you've seen the documentary, you'd think twice about supporting Bob Ross Inc. At least Andy Friedman and making money off his own art. |

I ordered six collector's boxes and lacked the willpower to flip them.
I don't love the art, but they're a really fun break. If Bob Ross was Sapphire, this is the Mega Collection. My hits were: Jose Ramirez Auto /50 Jim Abbot Auto /50 Jim Abbott Auto /35 Trevor Hoffman Auto /35 Ozzie Smith Auto #'d 35/35 Dusty Baker Auto /10 Nothing except basic canvas parallels for the encased cards. The large number of #'d cards gives a nice floor: Ohtani #'d 99/99 Skenes /35 Jose Canseco /10 Friedman Artist SP /10 was the lowest numbered card I hit, so there's a solid amount of this stuff produced. Really fun either way. |
