I was going to buy a high dollar card, then I read the description and the seller said he had a website. Sure enough, the card was there and I bought it right away and it's scheduled to be delivered to me this weekend! Happy to skip the train wreck that is the Ebay Authentication service!

Well, RAW card authentication is moving very well. Item was delivered yesterday, and was authenticated this morning already, and I have a tracking # for the delivery to me.

So, for ungraded cards, there's seemingly no slowdowns. Just FYI.

NJ is doing well perhaps because people are not buying many raw Pokemon cards over $250? CA is getting slammed because everyone is buying graded Pokemon?

Vault processing is a mess right now. They won’t return emails. Items authenticated 9/25. Nowhere to be found.

Unfortunately not out of the ordinary for their current processing time. An item that was authenticated on 9/15 finally showed up in my vault on Tuesday. Seems like it's taking around 2 weeks on average.

Disagree. Card delivered 9/18 and I'm still waiting for word on it passing.

wow, just a sports card? I don't understand their process then. The card I mentioned above is out for delivery today to me. I guess I got lucky.

Same boat for me. Arrived and authenticated on the 26th, nothing further since then.

Finally the card they received on Sept. 29 was authenticated. To be honest, I totally forgot what card that was when I received the notification on my watch. Had to go to my ebay app to find out! lol

Fedex shipping? C'mon...I have to be home to sign for it and all that...boo...USPS like they normally do!

Not really about the slowdown, but thought this eBay AG issue was worth a share.

Someone recently bought a BGS 8.5 1985 Star Jordan #101 and ended up suing ebay/PSA for authenticating the transaction, while missing an alleged blemish on the card.
The case didn't last long enough to get specifics on the validity of the complaint, but as Paul Lesko noted, shows a roadmap on what to can be done when someone has an issue with eBay Authenticity.

ebay.com/itm/236140051599

The settlement was intended to be confidential, but someone was nice enough file a copy with the court. A full refund, plus $17k.

With eBay/PSA getting control of the card, it wouldn't be a shocker to see this copy end up in a PSA slab and sold.

I agree with every person here who says we as buyers should be able to decide whether or not we have ALREADY PSA GRADED cards be authenticated by...... PSA. That is so stupid. PSA already said it was real when they graded it. Then I bought it from a well known major seller. Then I am having to wait countless weeks for them to authenticate an already graded card. Yet people are wondering why they have so many grading delays with PSA.

Probstein offers no tracking. As he BULK SHIPS countless amounts of cards together. So Rifk Probstein absolutely refuses to share tracking information with anyone, including with Ebay. Rick himself has told me this through emails and texts.

You are correct as I found this out today. Ungraded cards have no delays. Graded cards are taking forever.

That lawsuit is insane. The "blemish" is a "distinct white speck embedded within the BGS-encapsulated plastic case". No-one admits guilt but the premise is that this "blemish" was photoshopped out of the listing pictures as deception.

So the pictures from the eBay listing don't show it, but it's there in real life. Bam, you get a refund (and return the card) + $17,000.

This opens quite the rabbit hole for people to go after eBay now, I can't even imagine.

Question for you guys. What happens when ebay loses a card in their possession at authentication, is the refunder of the money, then the card surfaces later or gets shipped to you at some weeks or months point down the road? So the seller would not be out the money, you as the purchaser gets your money back, but the card is then found and shipped. Does ebay then want reimbursed or do they just not care? It hasn't happened to me but with ebay recently losing a card I'm wondering 'what if'.

Default Slowdown in Ebay Authenticity Guarantee Processing?

I think if a card gets lost after authentication when it’s in its way to is refunded by eBay at no cost to the buyer. If it arrives at your address later after a refund was issued, I think it’s the individual’s moral choice to let eBay know, if they were not notified by the mail carrier. But of course that is up to the buyer

It didn't get lost after authentication, it got lost at authentication. I shows delivered to authentication, then crickets ever since. Never showed passed authentication or anything like that, just no word whatsoever. Seller reached out to ebay and they say they can't find it.

Edit to add: Ebay covered the refund, seller not out anything, I'm not out anything (once refund gets processed). So if it gets shipped back to the seller he can keep it or resell it and make more money from the card, but what if it comes to me one day? Is there an obligation for me to pay shipping costs and send it back? Will ebay send me an invoice and want the money they refunded? Does ebay want me to ship it back through authentication? Will ebay care at all?

I want to purchase another one of the card for a set but also don't want to get stuck having to buy two of them.

For the second part I have no idea. I think if comes to you in a year, contact the seller if it’s a really expensive card and go from there
