After getting eliminated from the EFL Cup by Grimsby, does Amorim get the sack if Man United don't beat Burnley on Saturday?

Amorim is doing a fine, fine job and I hope he sees out the season.

Trent Alexander Arnold dropped by England, and Real Madrid in the space of a few days. Spanish media already trying to hound him out of Madrid. Oh dear.

Amorim not watching the penalties and then saying 'I have no answers' post game is crazy
They had a horrific window too. Didnt address any of their real needs. |

The club is poison top to bottom. They are getting exactly what they deserve. Far, far too many years they were allowed to bully their way through British football. |

Rough and unfortunate game today. Tough that we were not at full strength due to all of our injuries, and adding Saliba to that list after just the 3rd minute. Seemed like we were playing for the draw which away at Anfield all day, so close if it wasn't for one of the best free kick goals I've seen in a long time. No keeping that out.
We have quiet a tough schedule to start the season, next few games are huge.

Not a single shot on target for Miami last night in their 3-0 defeat against Seattle in the Leagues Cup Final.
Miami started 4 ex-Barcelona players, inc Messi and Rodrigo de Paul, World Cup winner on loan from Atlético Madrid. I think it's fair to say now after a number of years, the Miami 'experiment' has failed massively. |

![]() Miami had two good chances, one in the 50th minute, which Messi skied off a nice pass from Suarez, and another in the 60th minute, when Allende shockingly shot wide. But that was about it. The Sounders did a great job clogging the middle of the pitch and denying Messi space, and used their speed to expose Miami's old and slow defense and general lack of quality wingers. The Sounders started 9 homegrown players (thanks to injuries/suspensions to four normal starters), and they had much more energy than Miami's old stars. Captain Cristian Roldan was the oldest Sounder on the pitch, and he just turned 30. Brian Schmetzer is the best American coach alive, and it's a bit shocking that he's never gotten serious consideration for the USMNT job. He created a perfect game plan, and his players executed it flawlessly. Last edited by mfw13; 09-01-2025 at 11:09 AM. |

Second of all, football is a cyclic sport. Liverpool didn't win s**t for 30+ years, City were nobodies up until 2008 and so on. By your logic, if United were so-called bullies, then Barça or Real should be shut down or in prison. It's ironic that United still lingers on in the minds of all haters, after all these years. Was really expecting more of you, honestly

They didn't win the EPL title for 30+ years....but they never finished lower than 8th during that period and won numerous other trophies....four League Cups, three FA Cups, two Champions League titles, and one UEFA Cup. Not exactly a barren spell.

Sesko is looking rather over-hyped right now.

Can't think of anyone in United's current roster that looks promising.
Next stop, Championship, if they keep this up.

Dembele Balloon d'Orange winner.
Bonmati for the ladies. Bonmati (of which I'm a big fan) didn't deserve it at all. |

I think it's always interesting to look at the results by country as a way of measuring national talent pool. For 2025:
France - 4 England - 4 Spain - 3 Portugal - 3 Brazil - 2 Argentina - 2 Netherlands - 2 Germany - 1 (Wirtz - 29th) One surprise for me was the fact the Gyokeres ranked 15th, and Isak didn't even made the top 30. Italy - 1 (Donnarumma - 9th) |
