So, speaking with my buddy. He would prefer to sell the 2001 SP /53 Ichiro auto privately, but would like to sit on it for a bit as his family is still trying to figure out the best way to split all the money from these sales up.

Just due to the obvious rarity/scarcity of this card (Last publicly sold 2010), what do you gents think is the realistic ballpark asking price?

Just my thought was that if he actually sent this to Fanatics - Goldin - Heritage, it would land somewhere between 40-50K. I think Shohei's global influence is getting newer collectors into Ichiro as well.

My family & I attended Ichiro jersey retirement ceremony & game. I got a bit teary eye when they announced Ichiro and he came out of centerfield. It was an amazing feeling to watch his entire career from the start, then finally see the Mariners retire his number. Here’s two of the photos I took from my seat:

When I saw the photo Topps Now used for his “SP”, I definitely had to grab one! I just got it in on Saturday and I love it:

I meant to post this awhile back, but long story short, I was able to sell my nicest Mahomes rookie auto to fund the purchase of this card from an amazing friend. Glad to add it to my forever PC.

Keeping the purple theme alive...my recent purple Ichiro addition numbered to /199, for a lot less zeroes.

Another purple RC card, of another Japanese player also came this week.

Focusing on licensed Ichiro Yankee cards from 2012-2016 if any are available. Thanks.

I know there’s some controversy with the production of these cards, which was the reason I always overlooked them when I first started collecting Ichiro. Even if they were possibly made in 2001, there’s no denying they’re part of Ichiro’s baseball card history.. so I finally decided to add them to my collection.
