2. Everything Dead & Dying #1

With everything going on this week this comic may be overlooked. I think this is the hidden gem in the FOC. If you only buy one comic this week it should be the GITD Batman (haha) but if you buy TWO comics this week it should be this one AND the GITD Batman!



1. Absolute Batman #12 GITD

The Glow In The Dark Cover MUST be ordered THIS weekend. The rest of the Absolute Batman #12 covers are next week for FOC but the GITD is THIS week.

Generally this means people will miss this cover. PLUS GITD covers do well on the secondary market anyway. So together this is a great cover to speculate on.

FOC Notes:

I have seen people say to get the Battleworld #1 because there will be several 1st Appearances. This is probably true but it will only ever matter if they use those characters again in something else which they certainly can do. It would make my Top 10 but not my Top 5.

Marvel Zombies: Red Band #1 looks like a ton of fun and you can certainly consider them all 1st appearances as this is supposedly ANOTHER zombieverse but don't pay just for the Red Band polybag. It's just a gimmick and they could just as easily market them with the explicit label without the polybag. I love a good gimmick but this one has probably run its course for now. Still I have the cover run for $16.99 if you want.

BONUS - cover buy - Ultimate Spider-Man #19 2nd Printing Marco Checchetto

1st appearance and 1st cover of Ultimate Venom. There is a previous cover of Richard Parker in the black suit but THIS is without question VENOM.

You could argue that this comic should top the list.



Number 15 - DC W.I.P.: Absolute Batman #1

Ok this is technically not a comic.

BUT this is the oversized artwork for issue #1



Number 14 - Star Wars: Boba Fett – Black, White & Red #1

Normally these Black, White & Red are reserved for Sith books because the whole point was the only color in the entire book was their red lightsaber.



Number 13 - Venom #250

Landmark 250th issue and the return of Knull.



Number 12 - Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring #3

If you are not reading this book you are missing out. This could be a top 5 book most weeks.



Number 11 - Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #2

So Cobalt Kryptonite makes Superman grow. They are calling him Kaiju Superman and honestly thats hysterical.



Number 10 - Star Trek: The Last Starship #1

It is a pretty cool story where all Federation ships are destroyed - except the Enterprise Omega. The best cover is the Local Comic Shop Day cover.



Number 9 - Supergirl #5

1st super pets appearance, but buy it for the art. 1st Titano & Candy.



Number 8 - The New Avengers #4

1st full cover appearance of the Killuminati team.



Number 7 - The Department of Truth #0

If I had a nickel for everytime James Tynion did an issue #0 for a 5 year anniversary, I’d have two nickels - which isn’t alot but its weird its happened twice.



Number 6 - Batman and Robin #25

The 1st appearance of brand-new villain Quiet Man.



Number 5 - Deadpool / Wolverine #9

1st appearance of a new Wolverine - you can see him here on the cover of the next issue.



Number 4 - Red Hood #1

This is a mature themed comic and the 1st appearance of The Tower - a new villain.



Number 3 - Transformers #24

Key potential - rumor is the death of Megatron, but they could kill almost anyone in this issue. This is the last Daniel Warren Johnson issue with Robert Kirkman taking over for issue #25. This will be a big comic and you should not miss it. DWJ will go out with a bang.



Number 2 - Absolute Batman #12

We know Absolute Catwoman is on the cover of the next issue - so there could be a 1st appearance or at least a cameo in this issue. Plus this is the 1st cover appearance of Absolute Killer Croc.

My instinct is to spec most Image #1s and this one just sounds fun. There are no variants or incentives so it will be under ordered somewhat.

Number 8 - No Man's Land #1

Szymon Kudrański is fantastic. There are several movie poster homage variants but no incentives. The Se7en homage is the best.





Number 7 - Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #5

Fun read but spec this for the potential Amazon spin off. The Tony Moore cover is interesting because he and Kirman had a very public falling out over The Walking Dead rights.



Number 6 - Nightwing #130

New 1st Appearance. Might be Bryce Moran as a new hero though. Either way probably worth the spec.



Number 5 - Absolute Batman & Absolute Wonder Woman by Jae Lee

New Robert Kirkman original IP with art by David Finch. 1st issue has very positive, 4.4/5 rating on League of Comic Geeks with over 400 ratings. If you missed #1, the foil cover was pushed back to 10/3.



#8 Immortal Legend Batman #3
1st full appearance of the Immortal Legend Riddler. #1 is already on its 2nd printing and both first issues are highly rated. This is a series with legs.



#7 Immortal Legend Batman #1 2nd Printing
1st Full Immortal Legend Batman & Two-Face. 1st cameos of Nightwing and Robin. No incentives for the 2nd printing which will help keep orders down.



#6 All of the new Age of Revelation #1's:

Lots of 1st appearances that could one day be major keys but for now are just speculation. The Deadpool comic will probably be the most popular and it includes four new characters. It will be a while before we know which new characters become key 1st appearances, if any.





#5 Marvel / DC: Deadpool / Batman #1 - 2nd Printing Ryan Stegman
Rob Liefeld said the 1st printing sold over 500k copies. It helps that there were 17 open order covers. Reviews have been mixed, but hard to deny the draw. This is the 1st cover appearance of Logo who is a Wolverine & Lobo mashup. Look for the Stegman McFarlane homage to be in the 3rd printing. The two incentives are not great covers.



#4 Exquisite Corpses #6
Specifically the polybagged Cover C Michael Walsh Collectible Card Variant. This story is amazing and the stealth covers have been incredible. The 1:25 cover is also amazing. There is an exclusive cover to 500 that I think is fantastic.



#3 Ascencia #30
This is a Jim Lee cover and the 1:100 incentive is a Jim Lee auto. I have heard that will be a graded comic but I have not seen that confirmed anywhere. The 1:500 is also a Jim Lee auto on a metal cover.

Here is my plug. Buy the 107 or the 536 comic lot from me and get 35% off PLUS all the incentives. All the 1:25 and 1:50 and the autos. As an example, the SIX autos sell for more than my 536 lot and with me you get all 500 Jim Lee main covers, 20x the 1:25, 10x the 1:50, 5x the 1:100 auto, and the 1:500 auto. #1 Absolute Wonder Woman #13
The leak for issue 12 is a cameo of Absolute Zatanna so we can expect her 1st full appearance in this issue, but writer Kelly Thompson has said there are actually FOUR new characters in issue 12. We know Zatanna, but the remaining three are up for speculation. The next cover for #14 shows Diana fighting what look like vines and that makes you think Absolute Poison Ivy or Swamp Thing might show up. Then Hawkman & Aquaman are coming so maybe we get them here first. [edit: 1st Absolute Hawkman is in Absolute Evil #1 out Wednesday.]

No matter what, you need to get Absolute Wonder Woman 13 & 14. Issue 15 has Batman on the cover but that is a new arc.

Same writer as Red Dead Redemption. 1st issue reads like an episode of Breaking Bad. I believe this one will do well. NO INCENTIVES!

Will be interesting to see how long the blind bag trend lasts. I didn’t pick up either of these two but I did pick up quite a few of the recent TMNT ones. Is there any website that tracks monthly Top 100 sales now? I would be interested in seeing an estimate of total sales of the recent blind bags.
