It will be okay either way. Right now it’s just a matter of playoff positioning. The Yankees I believe will make it. A good run they take the division a bad run the last wildcard spot a mediocre run home field for the wildcard round.

Their manager is the reason they lose close games to good teams.

Nothing like bringing in the 2 relievers who suck the most in a tie game Doval and Williams need to only be used in blowouts.

You knew when Warren left they wouldn't get 4 good innings out of the bullpen tonight.

They can whine all they want Williams was awful and can't throw strikes. He's Ottavino part II.

Here is the wonderful work by Williams

Double
Walk
Strikeout
Walk
Strikeout
Walk

But let’s bring in Doval to try and get the last out. Here’s his performance.

Single for a run.
Balk for another run
Wild pitch for another run
Inning ending groundout to second.

This is what happens when you go to your most unreliable relievers back to back.

Yes and it didn’t have to be that way.

And whose performance was worse Williams or Doval or Boone.

Boone should’ve just left Williams in after the walk to make it 5-4 Doval has done nothing since coming to the Yankees.

ABS can’t come soon enough. These umpires are screwing up and then getting confrontational about it. The first batter Williams faced should’ve been called out on strikes but given another life by the umpire hits a double. Might have been a completely different outing for Williams. I am sick of these umpires changing the results of the game.

What me and my wife noticed is that they showed the box for the strike zone when it favored the Astros. They never showed it on the Astros first batter in the 9th or on strike 3 to Jazz. It just keeps getting worse and it will cost teams games in the playoffs.

We don't have an 8th inning guy. All 4 tonight gave up hits, runs, walks, wp, balks. Insane. And they were totally rested based on "bullpen budget"

I agree can’t trust any of them but based on his last 3 outings Williams is good to give up at least one run. Call me an idiot for thinking this but I wanted Bednar for the 8th and 9th providing he didn’t get rocked in the 8th.

Nice to see the bullpen, especially trash Williams, blow another one. Thanks Cashman and Boone.

Agreed. I'm sick and tired of umpires ruining games and players stats.

And I don't want a challenge ABS. It needs to be all or nothing. It's quite apparent these umpires all have different strike zones nowhere near the rulebook and even then, they change their minds durign the games.

Yeah last night after the 6th inning there would've been a bazillion challenges and we would've most likely been out of them by the time that last pitch was thrown to Jazz....

But if it would have changed in the Yankees favor, a lot more positive could have happened that you wouldn't have to worry about the 9th inning.

Even though they lost there were good signs in the 9th McMahon got a hit Judge kept the game alive with a 2 out 2 strike hit and Bellinger had a good at bat resulting in a home run. Would’ve liked to see Stanton up but that chance was robbed from them on a bogus strike 3 call on Jazz that should’ve been ball 4. I know it will be seen as bias but I can’t remember a series where the calls have gone the Yankees way.
