I purchase it the day I cook it. Last time, the shipment just came in that morning. It all depends on the day.

Long-ish story:

Yesterday after getting home from the fair, I’m sitting in the house and hear what sounds like animals trying to kill each other. I walked onto the porch and saw what it was.

Our neighbors, opposite side of the Indian family, have a fenced in FF backyard. The guy, who is 6-9 years older than me, doesn’t work anymore due to health issues. His similarly aged wife I don’t think works anymore due to similar issues, either. They might go outside once a week. They always have the curtains closed. They have no air conditioning. And they’ve always had 2-3 dogs.

Anyway, yesterday I go on the porch and see the guy trying to restrain his German shepherd. It was going crazy on another dog, a new one I’ve never seen. It looked like a mastiff or bulldog or pit bull. It was hard to tell. They used to have some old, big dog that must have died so they decided to get a replacement.

He had the new dog wrapped up in his right arm, it seemed to be relaxed a bit. He had the German shepherd by the collar in his outstretched left hand. The shepherd gets angry again and lunges at the new dog. They jump up on each other and start fighting. The guy is yelling for them to stop. He’s trying to control them and gets knocked down onto his back. The dogs are going crazy on top of him and he’s yelling the entire time.

The guy gets to his feet and pulls them apart. His wife, from some window or door, asks what’s going on. He’s out of breath and says the German shepherd attacked the new one. She asked why one of them (not sure which) is even outside. He snaps back that it snuck out. He then tells her to get out and help him.

After what seems to be three minutes, she finally walks out the patio door. Of course, their third little white dog comes running out, too. It’s only the size of Kenny but seems like it would be an ankle biter. The lady cripple steps over to the German shepherd with a leash, tries to get it on, then gets knocked over, too, onto her back. She lets out a scream then bumbles back to her feet.

She finally gets the leash on and gets the German shepherd inside. The little dog was jumping around, getting in the way and yipping the whole time.

Then I sat back down on the couch.

Back at the hospital in Baytown.
She is in surgery now.
Apparently, about 1 in 20 people have their appendix removed.

FYI: Stopped at Buc-ees just before arriving.

Her surgery went well and the surgeon said that she may be able to go home later today.

I, for one, found this riveting!

Fence company had 8 people working yesterday. They showed up at 7AM. At 7:30 my wife sent me a photo of the backyard devoid of a fence. By 2:30PM, they had finished the project. She sent me a video of the new fence, It looks fantastic.

Had a great day in NJ yesterday. I never heard back from the Chief in Burlington Township, so I decided to stop by anyway. 1st fire station, the one fire wiki claimed the Pierce Ascendant Tower was at, was empty of cars. I went back to the nicer looking one and it is career staffed. What do you think is there? The new Pierce Ascendant Tower. Had a nice firefighter pull that out and the heavy rescue for photos. On my way to the 3rd station, I passed one of the light blue trucks sitting at a light. I made a U-turn and followed it, but they got on the NJ Turnpike heading south; probably to some event.
