Tuned into the Reds game last night. I was surprised to see Trout playing. Thought he retired or was out for the year.

The Angels should really rest him every other game at this point. He's struck out 72 times in his last 166 at-bats. In his last 83 at-bats he's hitting .217 with 1 home run and 5 rbi's with 41 k's.

Great time to buy. If you aren't looking to make a buck and into collecting.

The offseason should be even better.

Looks like prices have held pretty steady lately on PSA 10 US175.

Auction Prices By Grade
PSA 10
Most Recent Price
Average Price
Population

$782
$809.37
6787

I think his cards get a little more attention once he hits 400 home runs. But I honestly thought he would have already gotten there. After that, it will take a bounce back season to get the ball rolling again. He has 5 more years on his contract and then 5 years after that he goes into HoF. So could be awhile for the card to generate a spike in interest that will raise it above the $750-$800 area it has settled at recently.

The Angels have 29 games left this season. So if Trout plays in most (if not all) of those, he should get to 470 at bats this year. He hasn’t hit that mark since 2019. The move to DH looks like it was successful in putting his bat into the lineup more frequently than when he was getting worn down playing the OF.

Definitely a double-edged sword here.

He's played more games than anyone would have expected, and his early injury didn't linger.

HOWEVER, he's been a black hole as DH for the salary he accounts for. He and Ben Rice (NYY) have essentially the same stats.

Avg/HR/RBI/OPS

Trout: .228/20/53/.783
Rice: .245/22/51/.825

Trout: $37,120,000
Rice: $783,000

Yikes.

Ohtani has become the Griffey in this generation of our hobby.

Mike Trout has become the Frank Thomas of collectibles.

Every time the Angels sign someone to a massive contract, it blows up in their face. Trout, Rendon, Pujols, Josh Hamilton, Justin Upton, and Mo Vaughn.

The only time it really worked out for the Angels was with Vladdy. The Angels had 5 first-place finishes and an 89-win second-place finish in the 6 years Vladdy wore the Angels Jersey.

2011 Wax is still expensive…….

Asking prices…especially 2011 Bowman chrome hobby and jumbo case cases.
in June a 2011 Bowman chrome hobby case sold for 18,500.
At the peak, they were bringing about 25K

Uhh, the only trout cards in this product are some bowman best inserts.

The main reason this box is expensive is because it has Bryce Harper’s first paper auto in it.

Huh?
2011 Bowman Chrome doesn’t have a base Trout Rookie

Hello Mc Fly
Your auction link shows a bowman jumbo sealed case with 8 boxes and 12 packs per box.

2011 bowman chrome jumbos do not exist, only hobby boxes. The main reason those are expensive is because they have Bryce Harper’s first bowman chrome auto, in addition to a trout base rookie logo card.

Biff.

Yeah, I’m not sure how that link got in. I was speaking specifically 2011 Bowman chrome hobby cases which I’ve sold a number of over the years thanks You made it sound specifically like he was not in 2011 BC , we can just move along now. Have a nice day.
