This is absolutely false. 99% of the people in the hobby either have no idea what dealernet is or don't know what prices products are being sold at on there.

The market manipulation is for Panini the big 3 presale price that everyone goes by and almost always immediately tanks. I couldn't tell you how many times at release over the last several years a certain price manipulator has had a price and you can get it on dealernet at that same time for at least 15% less. Even that price is only so high because of the fake presale price. Until what happened with the Rookie Royalty boxes I think almost every single 2024-25 basketball and 2024 football hobby product was selling below presale price. Keep in mind, that's with a 2024 football class that looks absolutely amazing right now. Imagine how bad things would be down if it was average.

For Topps, the manipulation is their own doing. This strategy of creating artificial scarcity for every in demand product and then only allowing a small group to buy at the higher prices later on under the table is the main reason every limited product has gone up.

At least with Panini though you have a chance with their limited products. Online exclusives, limited packs, FOTL, etc. With Fanatics every single person that isn't a breaker, money tree member, or running some type of scam will be out the door. It's horrible for collectors as well if you ever want to open anything in demand. If you aren't one of the chosen few or a john dumb enough to buy into these breaks Fanatics doesn't want you.

Dropped off at my door step apparently 1hr ago by Fedex. No knock, no door bell ring. But again 10:35pm. 3rd party? $500 box just left at night time? How is this acceptable Topps & Fedex? Yes, driving to local Fedex tomorrow morning to complain. Only caught this as checking my email before I go to sleep.

I would be thrilled they worked that late and give the driver a tip if I could.

Amazon delivers 24 hours a day and people love it. I hope FedEx laughs when you complain.

I live in the suburbs, not really city but not really rural. Two days ago I was looking to buy a tool I need for my kitchen that I am currently remodeling. When I went to add it to my cart (Amazon) it said overnight delivery was available from 4am-7am. That was a first for me, and my wife had never seen it either. And she is a professional Amazon shopper. I thought it was awesome that I would be able to have what I needed when I started my day early yesterday without a run to Home Depot.

I could not imagine having so little going on in my life and being such a disgruntled person that I would take time out of my day and drive to a shipping courier office just to complain about something that was delivered safely. That's just sad.

You’re right I shouldn’t worry about theft. I’ll remember that next time I’m in name your bid box store and every other item is locked behind glass and a security guard at the exit checking my receipt. It’s only a me problem.

You didn't say it was stolen. You said it was delivered. Why would you complain about a "what if" scenario that didn't even happen? And what exactly do you expect to accomplish? You are wasting your time and wasting the time of the customer service person you run into that has no control over your issue. And to clarify again, your issue that didn't even happen. Nothing was stolen.

I don't have time for this. I have to head to the airport. We recently went on a trip and I made it home with all of my luggage. But one of my bags could have gotten lost. So I need to go talk to them about it.

This is an apples to oranges comparison. Package stealing is highly prevalent in some areas and an overnight delivery, if unexpected and not the delivery norm, can easily lead to theft. Good for you if you live in a neighborhood that does not have this issue, but don't be ignorant to the real world. Plus, these required signature on delivery did they not?

I'd be more worried about package theft in the middle of the day when everyone can see the package clearly. All those Ring videos I see on Facebook always seem to happen right in the middle of the day.

Unless an organized thief is literally following a driver on a route, I'd rather have the package covered by the dark of night and at a time when even porch pirates are less likely to be looking since they can't see much anyway.

There was no signature required when I received my box yesterday.

Paradoxically I'm told to keep my stoop light on to prevent theft. A box on my stoop has a nice little spotlight through the night.

I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong to complain. I used to be able to put instructions to place it around the back side of my house through the app but maybe that's just for my service in my area. But you might look into that if it's an option. I know amazon no longer allows this though ...

10:35pm is egregious, I agree. But, Fedex has done the math, the slight chance of that package being stolen is worth the cost savings somewhere else down the line (bringing it back, resorting, sending back out the next day, etc). Its whatever their acceptable shrink is. (edit, I'm purely guessing here I dont know their exact policy)

Driving to your local fedex and complaining is a waste of your time.

To be fair, If they had redelivered next day there's someone who'd have complained about that, too.

I don’t know about $1k like his prediction, but boxes flushing this fast after release is pretty high velocity. $650 to $750 in a little over 24 hours with a ton of supply that hit the market. A case sold on dealernet at $900 a box.

I never thought my box with “just” a James Wood auto /199 would be one of the worse ones opened on here. Lots of great cards popping!

I think I got you there:

Adel Amador Green Auto
Coby Mayo Gold Ref
Marco Luciano Orange Ref
Francisco Lindor Gold Ref

Bryce Harper was the best base.

Yet I'm here still debating if I should open another I have.

Lol, people are just falling into the trap of seeing the top 1% of breaks and thinking those are common.

There's literally two guys you want to hit out of 38 base autos. For a base set of 300 there's about three veterans maybe three rookies you want, and that's generous on the rookies.

And all the rookie autos are equally distributed so it's not like your shot at a Kurtz is any better than 1:38 boxes.

The only surprise is you might land a Sapphire Selections auto. EV is so low on this product compared to retail price.

A middle tier box is probably like a Brooks Lee green auto and a Trea Turner black refractor.
