Is he wearing glasses/contacts? Did they get a hitting coach that can speak Spanish?

He had a few days off where he made some adjustments, they worked for Vargas and they worked for Robert, then the injury stint and now he is looking like his old self.

I compared Robert to Mike Cameron back when he was the hottest prospect in 2020. He could only hope to be Mike Cameron at this point.

Seems like Mike Cameron had a good career but I think you can make a lot of comparisons between current and retired players which would not ring well from an investor perspective.

Funny you should mention that, his BCA cards have been creeping up a little.

Luis Robert added to the IL with a grade two hamstring strain, most likely he is done for the season as I doubt they will risk anything for a few games. Chris Getz hinted on the White Sox picking up the club option as letting him walk for 2 million would be quite stupid. Overall the season was disappointing offensively even though he played much better since the Allstar break. On defense he was very good, making some huge plays and continued being a threat to left handed pitching. Furthermore, more walks and steals and less swings and strikeouts than 2024. If the White Sox add a few bats and pitchers and players like Montgomery and Sosa keep getting better they might have a shot at a winning season. It does matter if Robert can somehow find his 2023 form because that would make life much easier for the whole team. Lastly there is a chance he will get traded during the offseason but the odds in my opinion are much smaller than prior to the deadline.

Moving on is in reference to the hobby in general, not following baseball or other sports for that matter, even prospecting has lost my interest. Maybe in the future I’ll rethink this decision.

As expected the White Sox picked up the 20 million dollar club option, no real surprise as letting him walk for 2 million seems like an even worse decision. With him being under contract the trade carousel has restarted with teams like Mets and Yankees trending upwards. With a shortage of center fielders id welcome a trade where the White Sox could sweeten the deal by paying some of his salary. Mets have Benge in their system but he isn’t ready yet and the Yankees are juggling with Dominguez, Jones and Bellinger but could easily go after Robert. Luis Robert himself wants to stay put and sees potential with the team. I’m sure by early next year we know how the situation will turn out to be.

White Sox play this game too much picking up options and then getting stuck or worse, making a bad trade to get the scrub off the books. His greatest value was this past July. At worst, the Sox only have to eat the buyout on what essentially becomes a one year deal for the team trading for him.
Typical Sox BS.

He sees potential with this team? Is his roster judgment worse than his strike zone judgment?

I don’t know if there’s a source saying that Robert thinks this, but there were definitely bright spots with the team this season

I am excited to hear how Bob trained the entire off-season and is in the best shape of his life.
