Default Kobe Bryant & Michael Jordan dual-Logoman sells for record $12.9M

It sold for $12.9M to set a new record for any sports card.

Kobe Bryant & Michael Jordan dual-Logoman 1/1 auto is as legendary -- and as big -- as it gets as auction ends this weekend >> BlowoutBuzz.com

That card has been force fed through my feeds for a month straight and I never once noticed the grade until now. Wouldn’t have been a factor whatsoever.

That is a lot of money. BUT for a fan of one of those guys that has a net worth of many millions it will be worth it. You get to a certain point with wealth and you have to look for things to spend money on. I'm sure this buyer falls into that category. Either that, or Dicks Sporting Goods bought it.

Dang, and I felt like John D Rockefeller yesterday spending 3900 on 'Our Flag Means Death' props at Heritage.

yep that picture checks out as somebody who would sell an all time card for $145,000 profit

but honestly I would've probably sold it for less

That guy's thinking, hey thanks Fanatics, hopefully this doesn't get seen by the IRS and they don't check my reported income in 2015.

real27guy posted in one of the call-out threads and was "disappointed" in the seller. Wonder if he remembered that when sharing the story about WindyCity.

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

When it was originally sold, nobody could've predicted the passing of Kobe Bryant at the young age he did. So this will be the only hard-signed Kobe/MJ dual logoman ever. With the importance of both athletes in the basketball and them some world and the connection they had, this will likely hold the record for a very long time. As for the new owner selling it, who could've predicted the insanity of card prices Post-Fanatics? There is a new level of collector and it seems the D-Backs owner isn't the only billionaire/mutli-millionaire interested in collecting cards. That's great for the hobby.

I really don't like that the MJ has a white and Gold logoman. If it had the regular logoman I bet it would have sold for more.

As an MJ fan the 50th anniversary logoman makes it more valuable to me
