Brewers tie the club record with their 13th straight win of the season. It was perhaps there best win of the season.
Milwaukee quickly fell in a hole. The Miz taken off the IL earlier in the day clearly did not have his best stuff. He only lasted 1.1 IP and his final stat line was 4 hits and 5 ER. DL Hall who replaced him in the second struggled that inning giving up 5 more hits and 3 ER. But after that inning the script flipped. The Brewers bats would come on fire. Andrew Vaughn hit his 9th home run in 29 games with MKE. Christian Yelich using his Uecker bat went 4-5 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI. The pitching also went lights out for the Brewers not allowing one more base runner for Cincy after the 2nd inning. This could be one of the signature wins for the Brewers this season. Got to love how the Brewers winning are driving other teams insane. All these crybabies can do is the Brewers are cheating! The Brewers are just lucky! The Brewers will lose in the first round!
The crying from these fans is probably what caused the floods in Milwaukee a week ago. |

If the Dodgers don't win it all this year, I would love to see these guys win it...they just scrap and never quit.

This team is just great to watch right now. At mid May I was unsure where this team was gonna go. I still believed there was a real chance at the wild card and a small chance at the NL Central. I did not see them 8 games up in the NL at mid August though. They are white hot.

IMO this team is built now to win in the playoffs. Can put them against any team and the SP is good that they will go 5-6 innings and usually at worst give up 2-3 runs which this team has shown they can overcome a deficit like that. Then if you can get to the 9th with the lead MeGill is likely going to lock it down. I get it if you are Cubs fan or another NL Central fan it's a rival thing you want the Brewers to lose. But if you are a fan of another fanbase I can't understand the hate. If you play them yeah you want them to lose otherwise why would you not cheer for a small market team doing what they are doing. I would love to see a Brewers vs Seattle or Toronto World Series. Two smaller market clubs like Milwaukee I think that is a series people would love to watch as it's not the same big market clubs with the 200-300 million payroll buying there way to a World Series title. |

Well 14 game win streak comes to a end. Not sure why Murphy pulled Myers there. I would have kept him in. Good chance you win that game if you don't put in Anderson in relief

He's ok if you need a guy to eat 1-2 innings but it's in a game that's not a 1-2 run game.
Only reason I can see Murphy did that was to give up winning this game so he can go into having a full bullpen outside his weakest bullpen arm in Anderson for tomorrow's double header vs Chicago. |

So Brewers head to Chicago for a 5 game series with the Cubs. Big series for both. Whichever team wins at least 3 of the 5 games will take the season series and control the tiebreaker.

For the first time I can recall in his tenure, I was cursing Murphy out - and that was before even losing the game. Pulling Myers was a monumental mistake. He was rolling - locating everything, got some swings and misses and was low on pitches. When he came out to yank him I texted a couple of group chats the winning streak was over. His reasoning after the game was terrible too - banking on getting a ground ball. If it's 1st and 3rd with one out? Sure, I get it. But runner on first (who was on by error), one out, with a pitcher that's cruising? No reason for it - a double play was a luxury. Just attack the next hitter and get the next out. Horrible call, and not just in hindsight. And why burn a rested pitcher a day before a double header? Sure, Anderson might be their worst reliever, but no doubt they could've used him to eat a couple innings today.

I will say, having watched the Reds all season this year, that putting Anderson in was a calculated risk, and one they thought they could get away with. The reason I say that is the night before, the Reds did everything they could to hand that game away (starting with the Elly error on the double play attempt). They're known to give games away like that a lot, and the Brewers are the one team that can easily get into their heads.. I mean, again, the night before was a prime example of that. I think the thought was that they could get away with Anderson being in because the Reds would self destruct again, and they were already looking ahead to the Cubs games. The Brewers had avoided looking ahead instead of at the current opponent for a really good streak, but they probably just thought that they'd have a repeat of the night before and the Reds would just hand them the game, and there have been quite a few teams this year that have done that.

Bats from other stadiums play up in AmFam. We've done this several times with other players.

Brewers lay a beat down on Cubs and the Cubs need rain to avoid a 2nd beat down.

Brewers back to be "lucky" or "cheating" as after they blow the save in the 9th. Contreras hits his 1st walk off HR of his career to beat SF 5-4.

Priester the lucky charm of the Milwaukee Brewers. The team is 17-0 since late May when he takes the mound for the Brewers.
In those starts he's won 11 games and has a ERA under 3. |

Nice to see a great start from Woodruff. It's also nice to see them get some runs without Yelich. I'm not sure how long he's out for.

The Brewers have now moved on to the power of pocket Quesadillas to help win games.

The Brewers wasted no time getting runs today. It allowed the Miz to get in the zone and just play his game and pitch.
