Heard that they ran out of food and merchandise before the game started and saw one person say on X that the food and merchandise booths are still closed today. Also person said they had to pay for parking again today despite yesterdays game being a rain out.

Yesterday was a disaster (not even considering the rain).

Took over an hour to get into the Speedway because they decided to change the traffic pattern from a normal raceday.

Concessions ran out before the scheduled first pitch. Never saw a souvenir stand that was selling souvenirs and not mixed drinks.

Most of the entrance gates were closed, meaning it took almost another hour of standing in line before entering the stadium. Those same gates weren’t opened when the rain hit, meaning exiting was a nightmare.

Acoustics for the concert were terrible, especially at the beginning. So much echo.

But the worst had to be the ushers sitting people in the wrong sections. The staff literally had no idea where to sit people, sending them to completely wrong areas. It got to the point where my wife and I started helping people after the ushers confused them.

Loved the idea, but the execution was terrible. Which is a shame, because previous events at Bristol have been fine. I wonder if MLB required them to use different vendors, staff, etc.

Last night made it an easy decision to not go back today, despite being only an hour away.

How were the sightlines? When I first saw the renderings for the stadium last year, my first thought were the fans wouldn't even get to really see the games. The seats looked WAY too far away for anyone to be able to see anything.

I didnÂ’t mind the distance, to be honest.

We were in right-center, the last section of the grandstand before it switched into terrace, so we were up there. Far enough to see the entire field, close enough to be able to tell Matt Olson from Jurickson Profar.

I enjoy them trying out new ideas/events. Hope they keep doing so.

It's a shame. I was hoping for cooperative weather.

I almost planned a trip to go to this game and I am so glad I changed my mind. Almost every reaction from those who went was negative. Its amazing that they could botch this as bad as they did. And I'm not even talking about the rain, you can't help that. But running out of food and merchandise is unacceptable. It was a great idea, but wasn't executed properly.

I think the biggest issue came from the fact that the MLB tried to run it like an MLB game rather than letting the Speedway handle it like a race weekend.

Bristol doesnÂ’t have a clear bag policy, but MLB implemented one for Saturday. That meant fewer gates could be open because bags needed to be approved and searched.

Bristol allows coolers with food and non-alcoholic drinks. MLB doesn’t meaning the Speedway was woefully understaffed and unprepared for how much food needed to be ordered, stored and prepared. FFS, the souvenir cups didnÂ’t even have proper lids to them, so I was given a clear plastic lid that more-or-less just sat loosely on my cup.

The unprepared ushers and terrible traffic patterns can probably be laid at MLB’s feet, too.

Related side story - Michael Waltrip (with Darrell sitting in the passenger seat) tried to run through a group of is in his truck while we were walking up to the stadium. Apparently, if you lay on your horn, the crosswalk is meaningless.
