Arrow Beckett Hot Lists Jan Feb April & May 2004

I’ve posted these before but it’s been like seven years. Thought some newer members might enjoy them…

Ah yes, Alex Rios Elite.
I had just started working at a shop here in Vegas. All Pujols cards were on fire. For minor leaguers we were loading up on David Wright BC autos and stacking Ryan Howard chromes.
Ah Ricky and Delmon…..
I skipped the chase in 03 BCD for the most part but went apeshit on the 03 DLP rookie update multi brand novelty product.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

2002 Donruss Elite - I bought way too much of this.

Aaron Cook RC, Rene Reyes RC, Garrett Atkins RC, Jeff Baker RC all kept my wallet empty at the time. I still own the world's most worthless Jeff Baker collection.

What’s crazy is that he doesn’t even have a small cult-like following that a lot of lower tier players have.

That’s what I mean… no Rangers or Yankees fans really care about him, I guess?

Imagine in 2004, going to the National to pick up everything on these lists, while you pass right by PMGs, Select Certified Golds, and Credentials in order to land that Josh Willingham auto

His last few years as a Yankee were tough to watch with him hitting into the shift. Just wanted him gone at that point.

2000 UD Ultimate Victory was retail only and had the hot rookies that hobby packs missed. Anyone remember the Rick Ankiel craze? Soriano and Josh Beckett were also in that product. It was known for being hard to get mint cards.

Absolutely- there was a Kmart on the border of Santa Ana and Tustin that had 3 or 4 boxes of these one day when I was out hunting retail. I bought them and traded them to Ken, who owned that little shop in Tustin at the time along with some McGwire inserts for some hideous Troy Glaus and Ryan "little unit" Anderson parallels as I recall...I think it was 99 Ultimate Victory.
