Thanks, yeah I have a pretty good size Altuve PC with almost all of his rookies not numbered to one. Pretty much only collect him and 90’s Bagwell’s and Biggio’s

Picked up a raw copy of the GOAT's Sterling rookie! It's always been my favorite image of his four options next to the Bowman Draft/Chrome. I love the 2011 Update design but IMO the image is notoriously poor... so many good options to choose from, Topps! Doesn't hurt that his Sterling is also the scarcer option of his base rookie cards either. Good card all around, he's locked in, ready to get the out all while in his trademarked dirty uni, a sign of the legendary career to come!

Also picked up the 2008 Greenville Astros team card to have a little piece marking the begining of his legendary career. Jose is seated first row in the middle. His individual card from that set is super tough to find and expensive, I passed up on one graded BGS 8 or 9 for about $150 during COVID for whatever reason!




Also snagged my personal favorite of all his cards in his 2012 Flagship red border parallel. It's funny, Topps goes from arguably the worst imaige possible to the best in just one year. He's centered well in relation to the rest of the design and the action shot is great. I'm partial to the cleanness of the base card with its white borders and overall design matching his uniform but an early career color match with that National League red is pretty awesome!

I used to not care for the 2011 image that much, but his first few years all his images are the same of him throwing a ball, and the Update is more of an image that would be a variation nowadays, so it’s actually my favorite now.

Sterling rookie is a good one to have, the rarest of them all and typically are in decent shape besides for surface issues

Doubtful, he will be 1st ballot without question. He personally didn't cheat, the team did though. Altuve knew about it obviously but didn't partake in it. It's pretty well known that he didn't, but misinformed people just bundle it together.

Every player that did cheat is no longer on the Astros. It is funny that those same players that cheated go to other teams and are embraced by said fans that trashed them when they are on the Astros. Just pure idiocracy everywhere.

Appreciate it. Been building the other rookie sets along with the parallels but some of those I get in PSA 9’s too because there is only 1 or 2 PSA 10’s. 9’s look just as good most of the time and sometimes better lol

Nice row of cards! I don't typically buy graded but all the photos in this thread has me wondering if I should grab a couple as they look great when all laid out together.

I ended up getting all my cards graded by PSA, but I do display them all and couldn’t stand that some were in bgs holders, some in mags, and some in PSA.

For the sake of argument Lets say he did not partake, he still was one of the most respected members of that team and he knew what was going on. And he as well as the rest did nothing about it. The fact that he did not say or do anything makes him guilty . i do not think any of us could say with 100 percent certainty what we would do in a situation like that until it would happen but it did happen and he as well as the team remained silent.

Trying to do the same thing. Still a ways away though. Need 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Not too many of them get graded.

Well it’s not fact that he didn’t say or do anything either unless you were in the clubhouse and could attest to that. The fact is none of us know. So everyone is free to make their own assumptions

I know there is a lot of confidence in this thread but I don't see him ever getting in, voters will never forgive the Cheatin' Astros.
