I'm probably the only one here who gives a hoot, but the Bucs '76 throwback jersey hype video was pretty cool to see and gets my blood pumping for the upcoming season.

Embedded here for those who give a hoot.

Lions Levi Onwuzurike will miss the season with an ACL injury. Do they know call Cincy up try to work out trade for Hendrickson? 1st round pick for him and then pay him 35 million a year?

Doubt it. Probably going to re-sign Zadarius Smith and hope for the best.

I have purchased a lot of Commanders merch. Is Trump going to compensate me for all of this merch?

I like George Karlaftis, but that seems like a lot of money relative to his production

For anyone who cares, and the 2 or so clectors on here who collect/invest in his cards (shame on you), Titans QB Will Levis will undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder and is going to miss the entire 2025 season.

Doesn’t mean much. Cam Ward is the guy now anyways.

Did he have a hot mom? I feel like he did

Not his EXGF. I remember her vividly

So the hot mom might care

$23MM per year ties him for the 10th highest paid Edge rusher (with Alex Van Ginkel), and just ahead of Trey Hendrickson, who is holding out for more money.

Karlaftis is just 24 years old. Age wise, the closet comp is Gregory Rousseau, who's at $20MM per year and 25 years old. Karlaftis has been a better player. In 1 less season (3 vs 4), they are tied in Sacks during the regular season, but Karlaftis has a pretty incredible 8 sacks in 10 playoff game, while Rousseau has 3 in 9 games. Karlaftis has led the league in post season sacks 2 years in a row.

For the ages 24-27 season of Karlaftis, I think ranging from the 10-15th highest paid DE in the league doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Look, I am a fan of Karlaftis. I just don’t see his production being worthy of $23+ million per year. An average of 8.5 sacks per year is not particularly exciting. He is tied for 22nd in sacks since 2022 in the regular season at 24.5. I get that he is young and has turned it on over the last 2 yrs in the playoffs. Maybe that momentum will carry through to this year. But, don’t forget that Chris Jones is soaking up double teams every play he is out there, which leaves George 1v1 a lot with still limited production. I hope I’m wrong, as he seems to be a high character guys and hard worker.

There was a good article in the KC Star on it (https://www.kansascity.com/sports/sp...311052650.html).

Good landing spot for Shedeur Sanders as a back-up once the Browns realize they can't keep 4 QBs...

Right now he's probably the 12th-15th best edge rusher in the NFL, and tied for 10th highest paid. Over the next 4 years he'll be be moving down that highest paid list and hopefully up the best edge rusher list.

Even if he never gets into the elite tier, or next tier down, it's okay because he's not paid like it. TJ Watt and Myles Garrett are making about 2x what he is. Hunter, Crosby, and Bosa are making 50% more.

He gets paid the same as Alex Van Ginkel, who has less total career sacks and is 30.

Less than Rashan Gary (age 28), who had 7.5 sacks last year and a career high of 9.0 (both less than George's regular season totals the last two years).

Montez Sweat gets paid $24.5MM per year... He had 5.5 sacks last year. 29 years old.

Brian Burns was a killer in Carolina. His last two years in New York? 8.5 sacks and 8.0 sacks. He gets $28.2MM per.

So those are your 4 guys right in front of him in pay. All older, none producing more than he is. If you really want to talk about the tier of EDGE that out produces him by a mile, you need to get to the Bosa/Crosby/Hunter level, and those guys makes 50% more and at a prime age.

It's a fair contract.

PFF doesn’t even have him in the top 32 heading into 2025.

Results speak for themselves.

And nobody said he's great. He has led the NFL in Playoff sacks each of the last 2 years, and has double the amount for his career than Chris Jones does. So he plays well when it matters.

That and they probably don't beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl if he loafs like George Kittle does https://youtu.be/IU91K1fKAvw

Sometimes it's the 11th and 12th guys on the roster that help put teams over the top.

Crazy that the Browns have had 2 of the top 25 players this century for their entire career and the team has still managed to be so bad.
