This is like the plot of Sweet Home Alabama only if the girl just left Alabama for a year or two and came back just to pick up on her long term relationship with a dude who somehow makes a living off of digging up lightning glass from the beach.

Scoot's religious faith continually being pressed by Debo.

Wow! I never got any of that. Something about the sky's are blue, governor's true....something, something, something southern man don't need Neil Young around.

Dude dragged a squad to the WCF, only Clyde got further in the last 30 years right?

If they can find another nice piece, maybe they'll be ok. But the West is tough.

This franchise needs to get bums on seats.

Not the worst deal for the Blazers.

Ninjabum was thinking of Officer and a Gentleman. I think they even filmed that in Portland.

Why don't you go back to your double-wide and fry something?

If Scoot can't hold off a 35 year old Jrue this year and a 37 year old Dame next year coming off an achilles tear then he's isn't long for the league.

So where is Dame in the hobby exactly? I always hear breakers get excited by his pulls, in a way that Durant can't manage. Is he like a Grant Williams?

That's already a given. No way he's going to supersede a $35m/year defensive stopper with champ experience. Best he can do is maximize his minutes and hope for a trade to a bottom feeder, because these recent offseason moves just spelled the end of his prospects as a starter in P-town for the foreseeable future.

The difference between Grant Williams and Dame in the hobby is nobody collects Grant Williams and plenty of people collect Dame. Lol

But why collect Dame? I never watched him with Blazers, but that was the last I heard something positive about him... a 60 point game or something.

I like his tattoos... I hear he volunteers a lot of time and money in an underserved community. I understand Portland can be pretty chaotic. Was a quaint, bespoke city of bookshops and coffee shops when my train passed through in the early 90s.

I felt like he had an unhappy or uncomfortable look when in Milwaukee. I mean, I would too, failing to give a salute to the gods of cheap beer and commerce.

He also took Haliburton's IST "dame time" disrespect way too seriously, and that's when I stopped really following him.

What you are really saying, Grant may have had equal acclaim early in his career, but Lillard carries that through to his late career, as a survivor and Blazers' tentpole holder. And to be honest, West Coast fans have slim pickings beyond the 'buy talent' teams. There is no Indiana or Detroit. I mean GS was that but they, like everyone, moved from Oakland and now half the fanbase is comped execs.

I guess Blazers could be that. Are people still talking about Scoot on the same level as say Sarr? I always like his image. And Blazers can be tough—really killed a surging Pacers two years ago and relegated us to 6th or something (what we wanted).

I mean I could be anyone on the Pacers. It's still considered bad form to collect yourself, right?

Giannis does it. And robs kids of his signed redemption cards. Instead of signing them, he just moves to his PC. So the answer is an overwhelming “yes” it is bad form.

So I’m going with you are Joe Henschel, Corporate Partnerships Executive? And you’re collabing with Nebomb on this collection.

Damn. I wish. Just was joking that I had turned 30 cent cards into a $100,000 briefcase, simply by scribbling on them. But actually will need to do the hard work of schlepping them out to Indiana in October.

Tables sold out at local shows and anyway everyone thinks Nebob is an animated show from the 90s.

Anyway, I have some quantity flux pulsar Shaq and McConnell on order and want to get everything all set up.

I was glad to hear he is returning to Portland. Good for the team, the fans and for him.

He's had a great career. Not everyone gets to win a championship.

Really? Dame is on the mount rushmore of all time Blazers and was the face of the franchise for 10+ years. He is going to be in the NBA HOF. I can easily see a ton of fans collect him going forward. He won't be the high profile HOF like Curry, Lebron, Durant, etc. Grant Williams is nowhere close in these conversations.

I didn't know about the WCF, recency bias.

Also I look at Kneesmiff going that far his second and fourth years, and then following it up with a G7-F, and what that doesn't do to a player's prices.

Literally Furphy could come in and swoop Hali's thunder, and again Nembhard, Nesmith, Mathurin, Toppin, and McConnell would be relegated to supporting cast. Unfair.

But we are dining at the table of one of the the most robust, globalized, and enduring hobbies in the world.

Personally, I would pick up a few Lillards if I had the money. I think he is highly motivated to build a crew and legacy this year, ala Harden (nice try, but I think he never gets that ring). If Dame doesn't quite get there, in his last three or four seasons, does this push Kawhi prices higher, with his two rings? Or did he burn out too fast.

Dame is out for rehab all this year so he will not be building on any legacies this season. He's basically just back to put butts in seats his last couple of years before retirement.
