Same here. I'm actually getting more into deck building, and I'm currently working on building a new deck (dialga reverse sweep).

It requires a Garchomp & Giratina GX tag team card, and I was glad to see that the Full Art card is the more affordable option.

It's interesting you left out the SEC for Mewtwo & Mew which sells for around $700-800 and doesn't fit your narrative though but all good. I will just disagree on your point there is a clear hierarchy and leave it at that.

I left the Mew out because it’s a $200 raw card. I mainly am looking at and comparing raw In the $25-75 range and how those perform. The Mew is an outlier in that regard. I also stated that all 3 below alt arts in this block are pretty similar and close to each other. I’m not hating on full arts or rainbows. I think they all have their own unique appeal. But if I tier them, I think the order I mentioned is a decent start. Clearly, there is no perfect correlation and it will highly depend on what pokemon is on the card.

I’m not trying to prove a random personal narrative. I didn’t just pull this out of thin air. I’m looking at data and numbers and how they all interact with each other to look for trends and see if anything stands out. And then share the information I’ve seen in my research here as it seems others (like yourself) are digging into buying this run of sets. I don’t think it’s outrageous to say Secret Rainbow cards demand lower prices than you would think with their print runs. I think other collectors view the rainbows across any block as less desirable. And yes you can disagree and say that’s my personal opinion, but it comes from a place of crunching numbers, not just vibes based.

Well, that's a completely different discussion if you're now shifting the parameters to cards in the $25–$75 raw price range.

I was speaking about all Tag Team cards as a group because they don't all follow the "clear hierarchy" you described. That was your claim. I never said you were pushing a personal narrative, but I’m very familiar with this subject. I know the data, I track the trends, and I understand the value of my own cards well enough to say that your statement wasn't accurate.

From my experience—especially with PSA 10s, which are my primary focus—the cards I mentioned generally fall into the same value tier. And from what I've seen, raw prices tend to reflect that as well. Here's how I see the tiers breaking down:

Reshiram & Charizard: SEC > Full Art > Base GX

Pikachu & Zekrom: Alt Art Promo > SEC > Full Art > Base GX

Reshiram & Zekrom: Alt Art > SEC > Base GX (no Full Art in this one)

Charizard & Braixen: Alt Art Promo > SEC > Full Art > Base GX

Mewtwo & Mew: Alt Art Promo > SEC > Full Art > Base GX

Now are the Base GXs very close in value? Yes, in many case they certainly are and I certainly wouldn't mind if the Base GXs continue to grow in value too. I have dozens of them in my personal collection and about 40 currently at PSA and I do just fine selling off duplicates so the value of the base GX is of great interest to me 😊

It's fascinating how the hobby evolves. Back in the Sun & Moon era, the Rainbow Rare SECs were the big chase cards in most sets—aside from a few standout Alt Arts like Arceus & Dialga & Palkia. Funny how much has changed over time. Alt Arts are all the rage and rightly so in many cases.

Rainbows are just uglier IMO. Same thing with 90% of gold turbo rares. It's kind of like Panini having green /5s. Yeah they're rarer than gold /10s but the latter looks better 99% of the time.

I have most of the tag team alt arts in PSA 10 but have only been able to get an 8 on the Reshiram/Charizard, a really tough one.

Almost done with what Im currently half-ass working on. I would have done the Vmaxes in Japanese as well if the original 3 evolution promos weren't so god-awful expensive in that language. I also stupidly sold the Vmax Umbreon like a year and a half ago cause I said 'I want more basketball right now'. That will be annoying to buy again Im sure.

I graded all of them myself. A few from pulls but most from buying mint raw back a few years ago when the sets were still pretty new. Any time I could get minty tag team alt arts or hyper rares I snagged them. Actually I did buy an already graded PSA 10 of the hyper rare Mew/Mewtwo because I could never find a raw one.

Whoa...just checked Ebay and prices are insane (and not in a logical way). There are many, many copies of that card out there lol.

Tried out Arenaclub and pulled a crazy Pokémon redemption! Was 0.5% pull rate or something

flight for 2 to LA, disneylands tickets and $15k+ of Pokémon product to rip … on camera for content. Not sure I can make it but would be a cool thing for a breaker

Whoa congrats man, I would keep the Pokemon sealed if it is an option, will likely only go up in value over time.
