UFC was at its peak when you could catch a Fight Night just scrolling through channels or a TUF. UFC’s crackdown awhile back on illegal streaming as well as streaming in bars etc without the insane fees has definitely affected popularity as well. There’s also no stars, casuals knew Jon Jones, McGregor, Ronda, Holly Holm, if you’re not a UFC fan I doubt you could name one champion right now.

I think it will be akin to boxing purses keep going up and a lot of money is made on big fights but anyone being realistic will say it’s not on people’s tongues the way it was during the Tyson era for example
So you’re full of #@#@#@#@ and are going off a couple people you know. Sounds legit.

The Tyson era will never be replicated as that was a lightning in a bottle type scenario with a generational talent. He was the Heavyweight champion at 20 years old and was knocking nearly everyone in part because of his mediocre competition but that’s neither here nor there.

I'd say it's a lack of mainstream name and the sport potentially hitting a hard ceiling until they find some mainstream names. What's hard is a fighter fights maybe 2-3 times a year so after a fight, there's no real news or hype until the next fight which is 4-6 months out. Then, god forbid, the fighter loses, and that's a wrap on their hype.

Sweet, I remember both boxing and MMA events at the Playboy Mansion.

Can always go off PPV buys then, how many are from the last few years if you think UFC is just killing it right now.

Also thanks for proving my point about the Tyson era, not sure the point of your little history lesson beyond that.

People are using the 2024 Chrome thread cause BO didn’t even care to make one for 2025 and you’re dying on some hill that UFC is as popular as ever lmao imagine there just wasn’t a 2025 Chrome baseball thread lol

You still haven’t posted any buy rates from recent events.

To be fair, PPV buy rates for UFC aren’t released so they’ll never be able to back up their claims.

I know which is why he shouldn’t make bold claims he can’t back up like “PPV numbers are scandalously bad”.

Agreed, plenty to pull from to argue the overall popularity of the UFC and MMA in general. I just am still a bit surprised that 2025 Chrome came and went like a fart in the wind. I used to open a ton of every UFC release from 2010 to about 2015. 2012 Knockout is probably my favorite sports card product ever released. Opened probably close to three cases of it over the span of a year or two.

Anyone familiar with past buybacks, are auto'd cards eligible or is it just base and parallels? Have a gold Dustin auto debating on keeping for the week, even though most the public seems to be on Max.

Autos have not typically been eligible.
