Zero counter here. Always a high character guy that you never have to worry about. Good piece to help establish or maintain team morale.

PB—I think this will age pretty badly. His TS% is 55.1%, TOV% is 11.2%, AST/TO is 1.61. All his impact and advanced metrics just aren’t good.
KD—not anymore. Prime KD of course, but he’s very clearly in decline. Impact metrics are very poor and his trade return shows that.

I’d have Jdub above Cade (TOs/inefficiency), above Harden (defense/efficiency), above KAT(defense)—who all made all-nba 3rd team. Probably have AD above Jdub—who missed bc 65 games. I’d put him around Mobley area, who made all-nba 2nd and all-defense. Hali is difficult to rank because of his playing style and uniqueness.

So yes hear your point about guys missing due to games, but I’d also put him above a few of the guys who made it.

I also acknowledge I’m biased. My fantasy team was literally Shai/Jdub/Jalen Johnson/Amen Thompson/Jimmy Butler/Jrue Holiday/Hartenstein. I like watching those guys and I think efficient two-way players are the most valuable players in the sport. It’s no surprise the teams that win always have those guys, or go get them.

Glad there's another Paolo truther out here.

Now while he very well may develop into a top tier player, right now he's just an offensive volume merchant who doesn't give you much defensively.

A whole lot of guys in the league could average 26 ppg on 20 shots, 8.5 free throws, and a 33.6 usage. That's top 5 in the league in each of those volume categories.

I kind of like the additions of Ball and Tyrese to the Cavs.. or is that just me?

If Ball is healthy... which is a huge massive if... he's a ridiculous upgrade over Okoro who became virtually unplayable

Ball, Nance, Proctor, and Tyson (simply not being a rookie) is all an upgrade for Cleveland

Ball of course has to actually play Basketball

Bye, Bye LeBron
Lakers going younger
No more overpriced past their prime players to match you with
Writing is on the wall
Lakers going nowhere until rebuilding around Doncic

Bye Bye is easy to say until you find a trade… with a no trade clause for him

Buying him out is insanity but that’s the Lakers

So we shall see

So basically:

"The gigantic trade that had landed Doncic in Los Angeles had formed sudden new realities, one of which was James eventually becoming an expiring contract for the first time in his 23-year career."

"That exquisite bottle of wine might have helped Doncic digest Pelinka's explanation of arcane topics such as the second apron, the value of preserving salary cap space to help acquire an age-appropriate star alongside of him and what remained of the Lakers' draft assets."*

"LeBron James, the centerpiece of every Lakers decision and strategy for the previous seven-plus years, was not in attendance."

"The prized star can opt to be a free agent next summer under his current deal, and that's an uncomfortable position for any franchise to be in. It's one the Lakers would like to avoid by getting Doncic to accept a new deal."

"the franchise unofficially made that message public: It is ready to usher in the Luka Doncic era in Los Angeles, even if that means sunsetting the LeBron James one."

* Not a star, but god knows the Lakers need a Nesmith and he is on an expiring contract that Pacers will need to possibly expand aprons to renew. LA has actually been in talks with Indy about Double A before, because of Reddick.

I bet a lot hinges on whether the Furphy, Mathurin, Jackson new core gels and what kind of center Wiseman or whoever turns out to be. Though crash and Luka have history.

As a collector investor, Lakers are the one team I wouldn't mind seeing Aaron sacrificed to. I mean if his basic silver 10 rises to the AD level I am a rich man. If I'm his agent I just have this clip on repeat throughout the meeting.

Nesmith isn’t on an expiring, but he is extension eligible this October. I can’t remember the exact number but it’s roughly ~64.5/3.

Which would still be a bargain. I guess that means we are running it back. Anyway, longer term, concept applies.

He’s pretty crucial to what they do. I’d be surprised if they don’t get something done before opening night.

Am I an adrenalin junkie for wanting to see him play glue guy with Luka, Austin, Ayton, and Lebron?

Bucks making a decent move to sign Cole Anthony to a 1 year vet min deal after he takes a buyout from Memphis. Milwaukee needed another guard and Anthony sure seems like a better choice then names like Paul, Beal, and Westbrook . Anthony only 25 years old and even if he does not win a starting job he would not complain about having to be a backup unlike the other 3 who seems if they won't start they would not be happy.

Davis? Or the rasta bench volume chucker that doesn't do much else?

He's coo but he is what he is. An extremely streaky spark plug that can also seize your engine.

Havent watched him in a minute to be honest. I remember there was a moment he was at like a Sarr level of collectibility.

Cole Anthony is not that good. Your Bucks are still a 1st round exit.

Any of the guys you named are better choices (even washed CP3)

Fills the Normal Powell hole, in theory, but Beal is never healthy enough to play so will probably be a non-factor.

Suns win the toxic hoarder reconstruction award and it's not even August.

Looks like they're headed in the right direction navigating away from brand name addiction and establishing a defensive mantra.

50% from the field, 39% from 3. What's wrong with that?
Quoting myself because this is a smart signing by LAC.

At the buyout price, he's plenty fine.

Unfortunately, he was so bad as a starter last year that he basically played the second half of the season off the bench. Those lower back injuries have really done a number on him.
