He's incredibly lucky if he's only out for 5 months.

Messed up ankle and a broken leg.

Jhon Duran has joined Fenerbache on loan for a calendar year, just six months after going to Saudi team Al-Nasr for £71m.

And Chelsea are through to the final of the CWC having beaten LAFC, Esperance, Benfica, and two mid-level Brazilian teams.....thus proving what we already knew....i.e. that the 10th best team in Europe (or so) is better than any team anywhere else in the world.

Didn't need a ridiculous 32-team tournament to prove that.....

I think everyone knew the European cream would rise to the top. But the tournament also showed that lots of non-European clubs can compete. Lots of 'big' teams lost games to 'lesser' opponents during the tournament.

PSG/Madrid should win it in the end as expected

I think the outcome was pretty expected.

Semis: 3 UEFA, 1 Conmebol
Quarters: 5 UEFA, 2 Conmebol, 1 AFC

Utter idiocy.....TNT showed the Chelsea-Fluminese match yesterday, but is NOT showing the PSG-Real Madrid match today....instead a re-run of some stupid movie is on!

You would think that given all the effort FIFA has put into making this tournament a media event, they would at least make sure that both semifinals were on over-the-air TV!!!

3-0 blowout! Madrid in shambles at the back.

That’s what happens when Trent is out

I didn't know it's free, guessing a lot of people don't.

It was funny yesterday that I had two spanish language viewing options and zero English on YoutubeTV

Yeah....but watching a entire game on an app on your phone isn't quite the same as watching it on your TV.

TNT had the Chelsea-Fluminese semifinal on Tuesday, but not the PSG-Real Madrid semifinal on Wednesday.....very strange.....

Fifa president Gianni Infantino says the Club World Cup is "already the most successful club competition in the world" adding "the golden era of global club football has started". despite widespread criticism of the tournament.

translated : the most corrupt and self serving era

corrupt to the core.

pure poison.

the #@#@#@#@#@#@#@#@ keeps on coming from Infantino

Global players' union Fifpro was not invited to a "key" meeting that Fifa president Gianni Infantino held on player welfare where a minimum three-week off-season break was agreed, BBC Sport has been told.

World football's governing body claimed Saturday's talks in New York on the eve of the Club World Cup final "addressed key issues concerning player health", including "critical matters related to the international match calendar".

That's because nobody takes FIFPRO seriously.....

And nobody will take them seriously until they successfully organize a strike.

If FIFPRO wanted to be taken seriously, they should have organized a strike at the CWC......

It's gonna be much harder to launch a strike when there's so much money in soccer right now.

Teams just keep throwing money to players to justify the crazy schedule. It's hard to generate public sympathy when that's happening.

So, who had a better season: Liverpool or Chelsea?

And that money is increasingly concentrated amongst the top players at the top clubs.

Likewise, it's only a comparatively few players who are playing ridiculous numbers of matches.

A full international at a top club who regularly qualifies for Europe may play 50-60 matches a season, but a non-international at a lower half of the table club like Everton is probably playing a fairly normal 35-40 matches.

Championship players regularly play 40-50 games a season, two games a week. Every week... and take in millions a year less.

It's hard for the vast majority of fans to have sympathy for any Premier League player.

Championship clubs are scheduled for 46 matches plus the two cups, but few players play all 46 matches, and just as few play for their countries.

Only three position players played all 90 minutes of all 46 league matches (4140 minutes): Zak Vyner, Jason Knight, and Dominic Hyam.

Liverpool alone had three players who exceeded 4140 minutes for Liverpool, all whom are also full internationals who played another 500+ minutes for their countries (Salah, Van Dijk, Gravenberch).

Not even close it is Liverpool. Winning the EPL is so much more important than winning the Club World Cup and much much much much much more important than winning the 3rd tier UEFA tournament.

Yeah I couldn’t tell if this was a serious question or not. LFC and it’s not close.
