Default Which pitcher will have the most dominant hobby presence over the next decade?

For the most part, avoiding injuries/conditioning and winning hardware will garner you the most hobby accolades (and prices).

No Kershaw's on that list.

Maybe a shot at Max/Verlander but thats not saying much as the hobby barely cares about them

Tarik is a bull on the mound. Hopefully enough Cy Youngs convince the hobby. But Skenes got Livvy Dunne, so hobby wise, probably him.

I chose Other, since it will be the newest hyped up rookie each product cycle.

JV 0-6, 4.84 ERA. Kids actively forgetting he ever existed.

Skenes ERA 1.95 ERA+ 218 WHIP .936
Skubal ERA 3.14 ERA+ 131 WHIP 1.027

Skenes is worth more because he just turned 23 with his prime ahead of him and he is the better pitcher.

Skubal could win more cy young awards because he may have less competition - every other pitcher in the list plays for a national league team.

Agree that Skenes is worth more due to his age and hype coming into MLB and his prime upcoming. But to use Skubal's career ERA/WHIP in comparing who is the better pitcher is misleading. Using 2023-2025, the period post flexor tendon surgery, Skubal's rate stats are significantly better than his career stats listed.

Skubal will be the best pitcher in that span. But no one will probably care from a hobby perspective. Skenes will get the hobby love.

Skubal has probably been the best pitcher for the last 1 1/2 years… has the hobby even taken notice yet?

Definitely. He doesn’t get much attention here, but his big cards go for big money.

People get in such a mindset that if a player isn’t gushed about on here that their cards must be worthless, but we’re just small fish in a small pond here. According to Blowout, the only two ultra modern players whose cards are worth buying are Judge and Ohtani. What a boring hobby this would be if that were true.

Really? I don't remember deGrom being in the major leagues at age 21-23. Give me a link to deGrom stats showing an under 2 ERA, 200+ ERA+ and under 1 WHIP at age 23.
