Nettles played 22 seasons and has over 3000 more at bats than Trout currently. Not sure what 'productive' eludes to unless you mean counting statistics. Trout has one more career home run and just about 20 more WAR. Trout may also pass Nettles in career runs scored this season but lags in hits and rbi's due to 7 less seasons + 4 lost seasons of injuries. That should sort of tell you how much better Trout actually is in his per game output in his career.

Looks like the missed time is going to cost Trout a starting all-star spot. He has better counting stats vs. the other players, albiet with a much lower average. The injuries just keep denting his legacy and prices are reflecting it. Such a shame.

He made one of the best catches I've ever seen. I have a feeling his defensive WAR is a bit disproportionate right now based on a small sample size.
