Default Ahab moment 24 years in the making!

I started the 2001 Upper Deck Hall of Famers master set back in 2001. A single card has alluded me for 24 years. The Don Drysdale jersey card is SP /49. A few have shown up over the years and get snapped up before I see them. One finally showed up on this week and I didn’t even bother trying the best offer route. Snapped it up. Card arrived today. Not packaged well but arrived safely. I’m going to savor this victory and post it in every thread where it meets the subject matter. Please bear with me! ;-)

Thanks!
Tom

How high have previous sales prices been?

Doesn’t feel like you paid that much for the sp card.

I don’t recall off hand and would need to do some research. I agree, it felt like it was under priced to me. I was thinking it would be in the $250 to $500 range due to scarcity. Dude could have held it hostage and got more. I think he has other SP from this set listed as well. Mantle, Clemente, etc. if memory serves…

<edit>

Worthpoint, watch count and eBay historical search returned no other completes sales.

I’ll work on that after dinner. I need to make sure all of the scans came across when I changed from photo bucket to Imgur.

It was very wise of you to hit the BIN.

I think your gut instinct told you it was a price you couldn’t wait for cause it would be gone quickly again.

Great work!

Thanks everyone!

I'm down to just the Ruth to complete the 2001 SP Legendary Cuts jersey set to include all known jersey color variations.

For my 2004 Fabric of the Game jersey set, I need Fred McGriff. I didn't realize he was 1/1 on his jersey cards variations in this set when I started! Dohhh!!

2001 Greats of the Game autographs, I "just" need Mays :-(
